2015 Predictions

Ok, these are always kinda fun, and if I feel like it, I might keep tabs on this thread and see who was right.

So... place your 2015 predictions for EVE online here (Note, eve predictions, not CCP predictions. EVE predictions can include anything new eden based that might interact with eve, but should not included anything specific to ccp)

I'll start:

Valk will be released in 2015 with minimal interaction to eve

Occupational Sov system of sometime will be introduced, after a short period of unrest and readjustment, Null will be much healthier.

There will be new tools added so alliances can 'keep it local'

POS Revamp sometime next year, and my hope is a moon mining revamp sometime next year.

Also I think mining will get a relook, with more ways to utilize the system and more active mining.

We will get more info on legion

And Finally, some annoying things like pi and corp management will be addressed.

Maybe in 2015 they will develop a "wheel of balance" that they can spin in the office every week to continually change the balance of systems, mechanics, ships, and items to prevent people from getting comfortable doing something they like.


I want to be able to say "hey look this week my amarr laser tank is OP" or "hey look drones got nerfed to the ground this week can I take out my amarr laser tank?" or "hey look they added mining yield to my amarr laser tanks im going to go mine with it"

Im a sucker for shiny gold trim and disco lasers btw.

Okay...I'm going to win this:


* EVE will still be dying.

* People still will start threads to remind us of that.

* People will so will still make thread about "insert their favorite game mechanic" needs to be buffed.

* Same people will of course will also make thread that the exact opposite needs to be nerfed.

* The "blue donut" will still be mentioned.

* UaE will keep people laughing with his awesome posts

* The Dusette's will still do their own family posting habit.

* Sol and friends will still be around on the forums to lighten the day.

* ISD Ezwal will keep locking threads that break forum rules.

* ISD Barstool will do the same on the odd occasion that Ezwal is busy with other things.

* People will at least 5 times call that server is being DDoS'ed.

* CCP will keep patching the game on regular intervals.

* People will of course complain about at least 1 thing for each patch.

* FanFest will happen. Lots of alcohol will flow there.

* Jita will still be jammed worse then NYC during rush hours.

Off the top of my head

- local will be removed and replaced by *classified*
- off-grid boosts will be removed after "brain in a box" is launched in March
- being able to manage skill queue and write EvE mails via third party apps
- EvE Leagues are introduced which help organizing NPSI groups

I'm my own NPC alt.

You can easily write eve-mails already via third party apps.

The issue isn't that it's not possible, but that no one actually made a proper app yet.
It's been doable since, like, forever.

hell you don't even need an app. just go to gate.eveonline.com, you can write stuff via a web browser, its a bit of a pita, but you can.

Yeah but for the sake of ease-of-use a proper application for it would be nice.

Forums are a PITA on mobile devices that aren't tablets.

2015 predictions :

People Predictions

lots of people will complain that the Xmas goodies were worse than in previous years.

lots of people will say that the xmas goodies were the best ever this year, especially the 20 days free training.

lots of people will spend half their forum posts contradicting something they said in an earlier forum post.

Something will get fundamentally broken in one of the updates.

something will finally get fixed that has been broken in one of the updates. (not necessarily the same update!)

Miners and industrialists will complain their comfort zone profits are being slashed by nerfing things so newbs take their precious margins.

PVP'ers will complain their killboards are suffering because things have been nerfed so newbs can get too many easy kills.

Newbs will complain that everything takes to long to train so how can they ever compete with established Miners/Industrialists/PVPers.

Burn Jita and Hulkageddon will both a miraculous, surprising(?) return.


Storyline Predictions

The empires will fall.

Jovian space will become 'connected'.

Rogue drones and sleepers will unite.

The Sisters of Eve will be outed as the pirate faction we all know them to be.

Plex prices will fluctuate.
Game mechanics will change.
Goons will be Grrr'd.

Not only on mobiles, also on tablets ... I can't reliably format a message in the EvE gate editor. But let's see maybe someone will create a proper app ;) Btw, I actually didn't know that there is already a write API ...so thx for the info!

  • Eve graphics will become so bright that only a brail version will be useable
  • T3 cruiser rebalance causes largest threadnought of tears since Incarna
  • More changes to the CSM election process to make it more representative results in lower voter turnout and no changes in results.
  • CSM summit minutes so far behind the new 6 week deployment schedule that the changes discussed in them have not only been deployed before the minutes are out but the changes will have been replaced by newer changes before the minutes are done.
  • CCP will start selling renaming rights to RL entities – welcome to Jita 4-4 Durex Assembly Plant
  • Plex for sec status
