Need opinions on if the rattle is that much better to upgrade to from a domi for running sites on null.

I wouldn't recommend getting a rattlesnake for ratting, mostly because it's almost 4 times the price of the domi for both marginally faster clear speed of sites but also the fact that when you lose it, And you will, It's much easier to replace the domi.

domi is better, range and tracking mods for your drones is worth a lot more than being able to fling missiles at targets.

those missiles do a lot of damage though...

415m vs 200m, not really that big of a cost difference imo. plus you can pvp fit the rattler and it should be pretty good for ratting. I guess my main question is how easy it is to import these kinds of things?

no idea what the difference in ticks will be, but I would guess the rattler would easily pay for itself.

I was ratting against Bloods (heavy neuting) without any problems in a Gila. So I don't realy understand why do you need a big and heavy ship for this. Especialy Rattlesnake, which is expensive.

I can kill bs rats in a harpy, it blows my mind why you would use an expensive gila!?

oh right DPS is a thing, and it matters a whole lot if you value your time, and looks like the rattlesnake has DPS in buckets.

In my opinion for 0.0 ratting you need an agile ship with good DPS. Gila does 650 dps (and my skills aren't perfect, drone interfacing 4, med t2 drone spec to lvl2).

Also it has 90 000 hitpoints.

Agility has value certainly - but the Rattler is capable of pumping out something of the order of 1300 paper DPS (of which around half is missiles). The Gila does have the advantage of applying pretty well to frigates, even if they've already established orbit, but assuming the rats can be managed properly or that the group running is properly equipped the Rattler will complete sites twice as fast as the Gila.
Given the current price of the hull I would certainly consider it over the Domi - the range and tracking boosts of the Domi are less of an issue given the range and application of cruise missiles (anything which spawns outside your drones range will either come into range pretty quickly or you can burn down with missiles while your drones work on closer targets).
YMMV of course...

so much win here:

-rattlesnake = 4x domi
- gila with 90k hitpoins

Take your meds, now.

Yes - if you are ratting (or plan to) in a BS, go with the rattlesnake, it is much better and costs only a bit more.
