So I think I want to fly an interceptor. This ship interests me with its speed and missile and warp disrupt bonuses. If I was to fly this ship as a sniper that kites the enemy at 20km could I effectively be fast enough to fly circles around the target and whittle him down with missiles? Now I know that MWDs make your Sign huge but if a turret can't even attack then wouldn't that not matter?

This is the fit I came up with quickly:

[Malediction, Fast Tackle]
Damage Control II
Nanofiber Internal Structure II
[empty low slot]
[empty low slot]

1MN Microwarpdrive II
J5 Prototype Warp Disruptor I
Balmer Series Tracking Disruptor I, Optimal Range Disruption Script

Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Inferno Light Missile
Light Missile Launcher II, Caldari Navy Inferno Light Missile
[empty high slot]

Small Hydraulic Bay Thrusters I
Small Dynamic Fuel Valve I

Thanks for the help Big smile

While not commenting on the actual fit (I suck at fitting PvP for some reason) - You should at least be able to fit Adaptive Nano Platings in the remaining lows (1PG/1CPU), no?

Yeah I'll definitely be putting more stuff on the bottom as that's pretty bare

But if I have rockets then I can't keep the range than if I had lights

anything with an active tank will be able to tank you forever.

No bonus for light missiles. Rockets do more damage at close range to small targets. Ships are tailored to fit a role. Malediction is to get close and use rockets.

Maybe a Crow would suit you better.

um, malediction is a fleet interceptor. Most fleet interceptors are seldom used in solo pvp because their damage is terrible and their bonuses, stats and slot layouts don't really tend towards solo pvp.

If you try to brawl in a malediction up close with rockets 9/10 times you will lose unless you manage to catch a kitey ship (such as a slicer).

Light missiles maledictions are great, but rather in numbers, since your damage is pretty low. Alone, you will struggle to kill pvp ships other than probably condors or low tank ; low speed things, unless you are good and lucky. On the other hand, small malediction gangs can net good kills, they are quite popular to hunt down ratters in 0.0 while moving swiftly.

If you really want to try, i would suggest a fit like this one , found in a few seconds of googling; it makes uses of the armor bonuses and has a web for defense.

Lastly, if you still wanna try kiting with a bonused warp disruptor while shooting missiles, you can always train for a garmur, which are really viable solo (and quite popular), but it will require a more serious investment.
