PI in SOV space

I would like to discuss the idea of setting the rules for PI in 0.0 to be the same as they currently are in low-sec space. As it is now, a non-alliance player in SOV space cannot place a new center.

It seems to me that if the SOV holder owns the CO and is sovereign, then they should be able to profit from visiting corporations/players.

Of course I don't have the numbers required to know what impact this would have on the economy; I'll leave that to the experts.

But it would be interesting to see some discussion on this topic. So far I've only seen some very brief mention of it in the blogs.

Anyone have an opinion?

I don't think it would.

I think it's fine as it is.

Now, if on the other hand, you wanted to boost the amount of extractable resources on low sec worlds to match and or at least be a better stepping stone to 0.0 planets, then I would be in support of this idea.

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

Meh... Why?

It takes balls to do PI in foreign 0.0 space, and they cannot use (PO)CO's either (if they're correctly set up), so they're limited to exporting their goods via Command Center, thus they're limited to P3, at most, since they can't import the materials they lack to build P4.

I think now that SOV holders can set the rules for their customs offices to enable high taxes for exporting and importing from planets for reds, neuts ect, I think they should be able to choose if they want them on their plannets too!

after all, they do own SOV of the planets, the Amarr empire chooses to allow PI in their space, so why can nul-sec owners not?

an addition to the CO interface should allow or continue to disallow the placing of new command centers onto their planets but non-alliance members.

I would be doing the PI where I'm a guest but not an Alliance member. Being able to use the POCOs would have to be part of the deal or it wouldn't make sense. the idea is to give the SOV alliance an opportunity for income flow via guests in their space.

Anyone not a guest could be easily kept away from the POCOs with 100% tax.

My opinion would be to allow the owners to set standing dependant values. For example, blue and pale blue could get a set taxe like 10% and 25% and it could be set to deny usage for neutrals, oranges and reds if the owner wants to. I thought they made it that way, though when they introduced player owned costums officesé Or if not, its a planned feature anyway.

A problem as well, in requiring sov to place one is that the POCO are corp owned, like POSes, and it could create a balancing issue with w-space where no sov is required. If sov is taken, the POCOs will stay there and the new residents will have to destroy it to put their own, like people did with the interbus ones.

Agreed, an alliance should be able to allow others to put up PI on there planets in the system. It would make use of the tax even for the 0.0 alliance.

But I understand its a balance thing that its not implemented, I only hope it will change in the future.

As it is now I am allowed to make use of the 0.0 space Im in, and pays tax for service provided in the sov holders station. Makes sense to pay tax to them also of I was allowed to make use of the PI.
