Third day in a row of really bad disconnects and server issues

Is there any explanation, whether it be CCPs issue or someone elses?

Seems like the kids are "attacking" just about anything and everything. Was happening in World of Tanks too.

Last time I saw a DDoS attack on CCP they chewed it up and spat it out. Re-routed their logins through other's domains and such, some sort of fellowship of companies.

Did that fall apart or is the new launcher not equipped with the fail over?

Edit: My only problems have been my side, known thing. EVE hasn't given me any hassle but saw half the people drop at one point today.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Reroutes take a while to set up and need the right people to be in the office. Likely some other group picked up lizard squads goal of bringing.games down over the holidays.

I think it all comes down to thumbs and fingers.

Console games tend to be linear and easy. No difficult mechanics because those little thumb joy sticks aren't very accurate or effective (just watch any video of where PC gamers connected to console servers for FPS for example)

More buttons, more input, deeper game possible. Just the way the two have branched.

What I do not appreciate is how so many games are made for consoles then ported to PCs. You can feel it immediately in the mechanics. It feels like a child's game, the turning, the interaction, horrible.

We've experienced a couple of issues over the last few days that are related to third party services.

TQ is doing just fine Smile

Ah okay. Thanks for keeping stuff smooth, I was able to get back on only a couple minutes later. But you know, Eve, and stuff. Sucks being unsure of what else is disconnecting and not knowing what's going on around you.

Thanks!

It's always third party services. I guess technically your ISP is a third party.....

They don't actually have an ISP due to the nature now data centers route their traffic. They have carriers which provide access to the backbone and that is nigh impossible to break outside of digging the cables out and chopping them in two or more pieces.

The issue with login might be the routing getting congested at the same point as the attacks are aimed at for the most part and causing either connection refusals or outright temporary blocks for traffic from certain regions/IP ranges which are used for attacks. Remember, the attacks are done through zombie computers and botnets instead of a central assaulting computer; your computer might be part of the issue and seeing itself getting blocked.

I told them after the first party a second party could be just fine as long as they minded their Ps and Qs.
BUT, when it came to the third party, I threw my hands up and went to bed.
I hope nobody's in jail.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

You talk about difficult mechanics and deep games, and then make a comparison based entirely on FPSes, the dumbest, most casual genre on both platforms. Amazing.

The reality is both platforms offer some amazing things, albeit in tiny quantities.

EVERYONE has an ISP or they wouldn't be connected with the rest of the internet. It's just a matter of arguing over what ISP means if that's what you want to do. Level 3 is considered an ISP in the abstract sense.

Whether it's "the dumbest, most casual genre on both platforms", (to which I completely disagree) is completely beside the point.

You can take any genre that spans console and PC and PC wins. Hands down. Every time.

Better graphics, more precise control, more depth and ease of use to UI, etc. Consoles are for casuals that can't be bothered to acquire skills to play a game. The perfect Millennial's platform. PC is for real gamers. Sure, you can hook up a mouse/keyboard to a console and pretend you are elite, but the AI is still playing the game for you. Just compare any two games where one is a port and the other is exclusively PC. Night and day.
