Medium Micro Jump Drives?

I came back after a year of not playing and I noticed this new item.


Wow pretty cool, but does it have any viable uses in PVP?

Does anybody really use it or is it just a niche module for running away?

It's mostly used for running away. It's very good to have on a scram brawler BC because it forces people into scram range to kill you or else you can just MJD out. So yeah, it's viable for PvP but it's mostly used as a secondary prop mod although I have flown Myrms with only an MJD and it can work decently too.

Medium MJD's are pretty bad. Only used for escape. BC's in general are horrible though- and fitting an MJD really hurts your fittings.

Im messing with them now. Playing with the idea to do MJD no scopes on people. Get a sebo to boost targeting range close to or over 100km. Set up pre-lock, MJD within scram/web range. Go to town. This is semi useful for t1 cane since its always brawler fit and people keep their distance. Get long pointed? MJD. Get scrammed? 60k EHP plus neuts and 600-700dps gives you a chance to kill them. Someone warps in at 100km and eyeing you uncomfortably? Start up sebo, prelock, mjd, scram/web gg. In theory anyway.

Give Battlecruisers range to fullfil their Anti-Cruiser role - OP SUCCESS

most medium hull users carry a mobile MJD instead of fitting one.

I've heard interesting things about a MJD-sniper Ferox, but I haven't tried one myself.

Also excellent for mission sniping. Hit gate, micro-jump out to safe range, engage and take a coffee break. Raven/Domi combo doing this is pretty newbie friendly.

Neither the Raven nor the Domi use the MEDIUM micro jump drive, which is the topic of this thread :)
