Ok so it has likely been brought up before but something SERIOUSLY needs to be done about people being able to just cloak up and camp a system for hours/days on end, there are currently absolutely no means of preventing or stopping this, and it can completely ruin the income and experiance for a great many players. Im not asking for a complete removal of the cloaking mechanic.....only that there be some form of counterplay. Below are a list of my ideas.......constructive criticism only please.


1) The addition of a T2 high skill requirement scan-probe/launcher that can detect a cloaked vessel......these would be basically a t2 combat scanner probe and as such would not have supper high scan resolution......just like their t1 varriants, however they should be capable of scanning down even friggate class ships.

2) Time limited cloak.....ie a cloak module can only remain active for a set maximum time........incurring a higher and higher re-activation timmer the longer the cloak is active

3) An afk timer that kicks clients after a certain period of time should no commands be issued to said client...not exactly a perfect solution but it would require people using this tactic to ACTUALLY BE AT THEIR COMPUTER.....which is the main problem with this tactic as it allows them to waste the time of others at little to no personal cost to themselves.

Please respond with constructive comments below.........I am intending this to be an intelligent discussion about a legitimate problem with game mechanics.

I, too, fail to use the search function on a forum to see that this topic has been beaten to death more time than a Your Mom joke.
