Chessur does not know what he is saying he is drunk or forgoten to take his tablets again ii think. The cynbal is very strong and can crush many little men like him easily. I CHALLANGE Chessur 1V1 bring it !

The only direct nerf to cynabal has been the TE nerf, it is although one of the ships that got bad because almost everything around it got better. If i was to fly it today i would probably go for dual prop scram / armor rep and pretend i'm a kiter. Yoohoo i'm a kiter ! Exciting, I know.

cynabal , like vaga , stabber, hurricane or any ac plateform have been nerf TOO HARD by the TE nerf. they are all wasted right now ...

So what do you folks think the Cyna needs to have changed to be viable? Is it a rebalance to medium projectiles? More speed?

You're searching for the wrong qualities!

Cynabal has very gud aesthetics. And it looks good. And it has a very curvy body. And frequently your drones apply more dps than your guns.

autocanon are the worst weapon in eve , even on bonused hulls like vaga/cyna
artillery are impossible to fit without sacrificing the entire ship (not like rails or beam)

Some of this could be achieved by doing something about the effectiveness of off-grid boosting - no one skirmishes within 28km because links let you skirmish at much longer ranges.

I agree that Medium AC's need some love.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

he is a way better than Cyna (T2 resist , more cap , same speed , same dps , shield boost bonus , etc etc) even with the bad case of the autocanon ....
still hoping that CCP will work on it soon...

Holy ****.. this thread is gold. Glad to see some of the more prominent people in PvP acknowledge that a/c's are ****. Tired of dealing with the shitlords in F&I that still think its 2011.

Want better a/c's, plz post here to keep it in one thread for consistency.

As Chessur mentioned, arty cynabal is mediocre, it used to be half-way decent until grid was nerfed. The only thing i considered with arty cynabal is dual web, double TE/gyro. Its ok-ish.. but like mentioned, 1 LSE tank and the sig the size of a BS are not good for kiting.

A/C cynabal and vagabond are both pretty weak in terms of applied dps at kiting range (below 300dps).

Give Battlecruisers range to fullfil their Anti-Cruiser role - OP SUCCESS

What we are seeing is that ships got better while the Cyn mostly remained the same. With the reworks done to the VNI and Gila as well as the introduction of the Gecko and Orthrus, it took cruiser-sized hulls to a new level. All 3 of these hulls mentioned are excellent kiters while some pump out some significant DPS.

I still don't feel the Cyn is a bad ship. One can look at my KB and see that this pilot posting does not fly a Cyn. However, my alt that I dual box with does. it takes some skill to fly and while I do agree that ac's need to be reworked, they are not terrible. Followed by a full compliment of 5 drones and you can deal some reasonable DPS while having a high amount of survivability. You can deal a variety of different damage types and your guns do not require cap.

We as pilots have been spoiled by 3 things:

1. A faction cruiser that can ungodly kite, spam RMLs, and have defensive scrams with range to keep it alive (Orthrus).

2. A fact cruiser that can launch 2 mediums and do undogly dps, meanwhile having an awesome buffer or active tank and can spam RMLs and gets a damage bonus to them. (Gila).

3. A faction cruiser that can be set up with a 100MN Ab, armor tank you, kite you, and launch 2 geckos that do like 3.8k M/S. (VNI)


The game mechanics changed for several ships. All of us including myself got into one of these 3 ships mentioned above if not all of them. But, with all factor considered, I still feel that the Cyn is a good ship and in the right hands can be a very effective ship that is very versatile and can survive in most small scale PvP situations. That extra warp speed also keeps your tackler/ fleet mate alive due to being able to arrive on the scene in a short amount of time compared to other cruiser sized hulls.

Bottom line: We have all been spoiled and the Cyn is not useless.

The current Cynabal meta allows you to effectively smartbomb and roleplay with that sexy mamma,however if u decide to become elite pvper and use ACs UUUUUU WILLLLL

No ship in eve is impossible to use.

When engaing enemies, your ship doesn't have to be good, your piloting doesn't have to be good, you just have to find people flying worse (ships) than you do and you get kills.
If that is enyoable to you, fly whatever you want.

If you want to be able to engage people on the same level or fight heavily outnumbered there are way better alternatives to using a Cynbal, which downsides have already been discussed in this thread.
