Well either their are ignoring us deliberatly or the new "improved" updatecycle forces them into new stuff instead of optimizing the mess that Rhea is. I actually dont know which alternative is better...

I mean whats the worth of all the shortly announced changes and improvements when the UI forces people into other games?

I'm really starting to question the wisdom of the 6 week update cycle.. it doesn't look like it's giving them enough time to do things properly.
For example, as much as I like the confessor, I'm quite disappointed by the lack of the other race counterparts. a problem that appears to be because of time constraints.
I miss the "new expansion" feel of the old schedule, the new one largely brings all the issues with the content patches, however brings much fewer new things.

Among the upcoming patch changes which the devs are focusing on now, are module tiericide, which I don't quite understand why needs to be done, and makes the names of the items boring.
Newest suggestion, all the meta items between tech 1 and 2, will be "restrained" something
The old names had a naming scheme which suggested they were non-standard improvements.
"restrained" suggests that it's a gimped version of a better model.
And an update on the exequror model, which... why? i remember the ugly ship poll, I dont remember the exequror being talked about as needing a new look, I think the DOMINIX was in the very top in ships people don't want to fly just because it's ugly.. what about that one?

I don't know how other player groups are feeling, but most of my friends already quit playing.
I didn't agree with them then, but this patch is starting to make me truly lose hope.

The walking in stations cancellation thread got several responses, none of them were anything I was hoping to hear, but nonetheless, I was very happy, that at least someone cared enough to acknowledge that some people were not satisfied.

It's starting to look like the time of responding to the community's concerns is over for CCP.
It's all on to the next "great" adventure of fixing stuff that isn't broken..

On previous versions I had nice graphics with "obsolete" Nvidia 8800GTS, but now I have to use "laptop" settings if I want to play without graphics crashing every few minutes. PBR looks good, but either CCP has to ease up GPU load, or I'll have to buy a new graphics card that is worth of few months subscription.

Not sure what you mean by "laptop" settings, but I use a 8800GTS with these settings:

Trails: Off
GPU Particles: Off

Resource cache: Disabled
HDR: Disabled

Anti-Aliasing: Disabled
Post Processing: None
Shader Quality: High
Texture Quality: Medium
LOD Quality: Medium
Shadow Quality: Low
Interior Effects: High
Interior Shader Quality: High

Works as a reasonable compromise for me (24-inch screen).

Regardless, much of CCP went on vacation in the weeks preceding Christmas. They weren't all working up to the 24th.

Maybe they should think about their update release dates then. Because making the game unplayable (even for only a small group of players) right before christmas is a bad idea?

The reason why people are posting in here repeating their valid feedback over christmas is that they are not busy being ingame which speaks for itself...

Unfortunatly those people having big problems with the new UI are not the vocal pvp/pve majority which has a big lobby in CCP, but traders and industrialists. And looking at the last patches, CCP is mostly ignoring any feedback and concerns of this player group. Instead they are catering the pvp/pve playerbase again and again.

Guess what will happen with the Starbase upgrade. I predict it will make things much worse for industry because CCP will once again think that the majority of people filling out their survey are those that later have to work with their "improvements". PLEASE CCP think about it, if you rework a feature that is only regularily used by a small minority of players, DONT rework it based on the opinion of the other 95% of the playerbase who will never use it anyways..

In this case, probably deploy a new version without the time to fix "eventual" issues, was not a good idea.

And when should come the next update?

Personally, I'm going to finish the paid period and quit the game.
Because CCP ignores the players and they seem to not care about the players.
Interface nobody is going to change, players on the forum no one answers.
In response to such indifference I also want to spit on this game.

Very well said sir, and I agree

If things don't change soon like the UI changing colors while moving and mousing over windows, and ships fixed with a 2nd, 3rd and 4th pass over or however many passes it'll take to make them look like they did before soon, I'm out!

IMO ships look awful now and I'm on a very high end GFX card and comp! what we had before this change looked more real than what we have now

The new map needs a lot of work. It should be called an Alpha, not a beta

I play at the highest resolution, and it's too hard to click on the stars for selection.

The lines are not clear enough they are too thin to identify.

The colors are too faded.

The statistical screens are not clear enough, they just look like a blob.

There are other issues, but thats all I could remember at the moment.

I don't know if it's enough to make me quit, but I'm very disappointed with some of the changes. When I'm in Thera for example, I can't see some of the stuff because it went into transparent mode, and Thera has a very bright star and Nebula in it. I have to turn my view just to be able to read it.

Put the color and control back into player hands. Along with the giant crosshairs, which we use to be able to turn off.

Ooh, this actually a very good point, COMBAT works fine with this interface:
The parts they changed the most were all parts I don't use AT ALL in combat.

INDUSTRY however, is VERY annoying to do with this new interface, I'm putting in new research and manufacturing jobs constantly, as well as some market adjustments, and that's where the monochrome/low contrast simplicity messes me up.

3 weeks in:
I still cant tell the icons apart at a glance, trying to do anything fast ends up me opening a lot of wrong windows.

I open a lot of windows when doing market stuff, when coming up with new fitting ideas, checking similar items to try to predict price changes.. and having tons of windows open really doesn't work now, the window borders just blur together too much.

The color options are a nice novel feature.. too bad that in effect I don't like a single one of them, carbon at 100% transparency is CLOSEST to what I want for combat, but I still prefer the RGB sliders, to get it just right.
That setting however doesn't work well in station for market/industry stuff.
(funny how I didn't need two settings for different activities with the RGB slider system)

And last but not least, I still want to turn the focus transparency change off, it's just getting in the way.

I guess the best thing about this new UI is that it.. "incentivises" me to memorize the keyboard shortcuts for everything.

But hey, COMBAT works fine.
(this may or may not be related to that I don't need the sidebar AT ALL for combat, and the COMBAT part of the UI is still both in high contrast AND color)

It's either, they release an expansion and a bunch of people are mad that they don't get fixes to relatively minor bugs and issues for a few weeks, or they don't release an expansion and likely a bunch more people are mad that they don't get anything for several more weeks than they otherwise would have, including bug fixes that came with the release.

Some of these issues was discovered in SiSi. The Blackbird camera position, the removal of the customization of the UI, that some icons has an incorrect meaning, etc. It was released despite that.

The real problem is that CCP give the impression that they speed up the release of new expansions, but still don't change their way of doing things. If the next expansion contain some of the asked corrections (RGB sliders or grey background themes for my case), then I will gladly admit that I was wrong. But until then, I don't still believe that they have changed, their past (and the growing list of broken features) don't help to give them trust as unless there was an uprising and that we burned Jita, they just reject any feedback.

I would love seeing an expansion who nearly only correct broken things...

CCP, if it ain't broke... Don't fix it.

A lot of the recent changes caused more problems than fix, and somethings worked perfectly fine.

That was the reason I stopped playing EVE.
They publish topics and ask for opinion not because our opinion matters, but because their asking making the impression that our oupinion matters.
The reality is that they will push any changes they want no matter the reaction. Even if the reaction is owerwhelmengly negative, nothing will change unless people start cancelling subscriptions en masse.

But they don't just "reject any feedback". A lot of feedback was incorporated into changes they made to the UI from when it was first announced to when it was released on TQ.
