So what is the consensus out there.. im talking about 0.0 PI. Is it more efficient to produce the refined commodities(ie Coolant, Consumer Electronics, etc..) on one planet.. or have planets producing the P1 materials exclusively then using a factory planet to convert them all over to the P2 and then eventually P3?

Though I'm based in high sec I suppose the same theory applies.

My plan is to do P0>P2 on mining bases then P2>P4 on factory planet. I assume this is the shortest route to the most valuable goods, though that isn't based on any sort of mathmatical analysis and I may well be wrong.

Depends on too many factors.

How often can you // will you check the planets ?
How fast do the resources deplete, how often do you have to switch extractors around, if at all ?
Are all the planets close together, or are they spread across multiple systems ?
What are you moving the goods in, and how safe is the space you operate in generally ?
Who owns the customs offices you're going to use (or can use), what tax rates are you looking at ?

The range of possible variables is just too great to give a good rule of thumb on whether one is advisable as opposed to the other.
Best to just run it a couple of weeks in each configuration and write down the actual results - basically, trial and error.
