I recall they had a rule that anyone under 18 had to leave at 9:00 PM, but I could be mis-remembering that. I'd have to call them and ask: 832-379-1000

I did get real busy there after the first few meets, and very good that traction picked up from my original post that was fishing (pun intended) for an existing group of Houstonians. As current schedules go, I will be in Houston for a week before and a week after Halloween this year. Naturally, right after making reservations, a great opportunity landed in my lap that may or may not play. In any case, there will be tasty treats for this one. I've been promising fresh crab for some time.

On this part I can use a hand. The peeps I can ship to don't generally care about Eve meets. I need a frozen box to be ready to arrive in Houston in the next two weeks, be stored as cold as possible, and delivered to the Kings Head a couple hours or the day before the meet. The rest I can take care of remotely, and Blaxo will be happy.

The OP is now changed and set for more long-term/ low maintenance.

I worked out a deal with the chef at Kings Head to receive and prepare the King Crab for the October meet. There is no cost to any Eve nerds for the crab, so bring a buddy. Hopefully I'll make it, but if not, y'all can buy me a beer another time..

You should. Enough people show up and we blob the big room with multiple monitors/TVs and get into matches/ slosh ops and other such tomfoolery, right from the bar. Its worth a four hour flight when the timing works out.

I've confirmed with the King's Head that they are expecting the crab shipment, and their "cook" that usually grills the food outside by the patio is waiting for it.

hmm houston not that far but not likely to head out that way anytime soon. I will subscribe to this thread just to keep updated. Any ways let me know if anything is happening in San Antonio. (probably should have posted before comic con but ah well)

Good time was had this past Saturday. The expected crab didn't show up, but maybe next month, awaiting confirmation. We got to see the Giants win Game 4 of the World Series \o/ Go Giants!

Next meetup is at 8:00 PM, 29 November (the Saturday after Thanksgiving). Possibly folks will be out of town or have company and can't make it. I'll be there. Hope y'all are too.
