I play a lot of space games and this is most likely the biggest, for now. But to see a ship being bought with no chance for colorization, no trim options, no icons,(that I've seen) seems odd. Its not that its hard even Indy companies have decals and color choices, so why not here...the proclaimed biggest and most detailed space sim? Starpoint Gemini 2 has a great customization system and their whole game was Indy based with a tiny fraction of what you get here.

Not having a pink Thorax is really killing my immersion.

Gallente Stealth Bombers should have the Quafe girl painted on the hull also.

Well they are looking at adding this feature anyway. They also just added mostly-pointless WASD ship control. Incarna was a disaster, but you can technically now leave your ship.

Point is, eventually EVE will have an answer for even the most trivial and irrelevant of complaints, including this one.

Since no one really sees me in game as much other than a big ol' red 'X', the lack of custom ship skins or dress-up content isn't grilling my cheese.

its being worked on. The current mode is a trial and then they added stuff on the back end in a think kronos to make it easier on the DB to do customization.

Its being worked on, but no progress that we are aware.

And to the OP: I'd really like to see you take over the code of a new 11 year old game and easily make it so you can customize stuff.

People tend to forget, eve was written before F2P was a thing. Before doing cosmetic stuff for more money was a thing. And it was written in a different time, with a different set of what was going to come. Changing that takes time. lots of time. Patience young one.

In addition, CCP is still walking a thin line between when they can do to 'milk us for more money' and what will make us 'go all unholy rage on there greedy asses' we are an odd community, and give ccp a lot of slack, but if they make too many mistakes at once.. that's a totally different story. So they are just NOW starting to take risk again, and they are being cautious in that risk taking. They have a little more flexabilt now that dust is out and can give them some income, but you have to be careful not to shoot the goose that lays the golden egg while your trying to fix its pen.

Anyway, stuff in progress, patience. Go buy and use skins, that way they know you want it.
