Theres a lack of pve content in eve for the casual player besides incursions or griding lvl 4's, and unlike other mmo's where pve is a plenty without the risk vs reward how about a raid system much like WoW's?

The difference is unlike WoW's or other mmo's dungeon features, where its just group up - kill mobs - kill boss, there could be a pvp element added to it also.

The idea is this,

Player looks for a raid to do, player selects raid, raid fills and off you go.

These raids are off system as in pirates or pvp players can't get you "pfft noob stay in hi-sec if you want safe pve content"--- but theres a twist. You see in these raids, another fleet can select the same one as you and have a chance of landing in your raid and do 1 of 2 things. They can either 1. compete for the most damage done ala incursion style, or 2. kill you out right meaning the raids theres to finish.

This means the risk vs reward is still there as also its your ship your placing on the line to do these raids with, No resurrection spell here people you blow up your out of the raid and out of a ship also.

Raids could vary in difficulty from simple kill frigs/cruisers to going up against capital ships (give's those cap pilots something to do besides sit in a pos).

Missions could be along the lines of escort missions, 1 team defends and escorts a fleet of merchants etc and the 2nd team attacks the fleet defending the target or kills the target .

There could be regular kill a wanted person missions like DED sites, and also faction warfare style missions aka defend one faction from another (another way to gain faction standing without the grind??)

I and a few others would enjoy this kind of content, it gives pve and a mix of pvp "pfft noob goto low/null/wh if you want pve/pvp content"--- i do on my main, but sadly as a casual player i dont have time to sit in a system being scanned down or watch as the gate is camped for hours on end. Having the option to do a raid for 1 hr and get some form of reward at the end even if it leads to the death of a ship is more enjoyable instead of having to wait out a long timer for pirates/pvp players to get bored.

Isk/drops could be a roll of the dice basis kinda thing, this prevent ninjas as after all its a team effort at the end.

This will probably never happen in eve online but it would be an intresting concept if they ever did implement such a thing.

So what do you say eve community, more team work from all over new eden (as its random people joining) rather then specific people all the time for incursions, pvp with pve so risk vs reward, and good for casual players who dont have the time to spend scouting/waiting/scouting/waiting for pirates or pvpers to leave if they have you camped. Plus you might get recruited by a corp or alliance if they think your good at what you do and it promotes team work with random people.

-edit also to prevent griefers, a mechanic can be in place that if you shoot or damage your team members you get griefing points, the more points you get the less chance of getting in a raid with people that dont grief . Also team members can leave at anytime if shot by griefers on there own team, unless shot by an enemy team ship which forces you into pvp at that point. -no logoffski if engaged rules except against own team members

Instanced stuff aren't in the concept of the "one shard, one universe" game that is Eve Online and if you want to do raids, well, you said it yourself, team up with other people and go do incursions.

no. go back to WOW.

edit -- forgot to add "please biomass yourself on the way out" and "I can haz your stuff"

Also, you should be ashamed for posting this.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

This is worse than the anti cloaking threads that pop up everyday.

Biomass yourself before you hurt yourself, keep your stuff

I do believe that this is the most valid response to this thread.
