New Incursus Hull

Since there's a thread about people complaining about the BB I figure I'd post this thread.

Basically I hate the new Incursus hulls (including Enyo and Ishkur). Those spindly antenna are not an adequate replacement for the majestic space lance.

In all seriousness though, the hull looks very chunky now, like a oddly shaped ball and the removal of the lance is nothing short of a crime. Incursus and Enyo are some of my favourite ships in the game and I've spent hours staring at them, now I'm forced to zoom all the way out or risk mistaking my ship for a turd.

Opinions? Anyone with me or does everyone love the new hull? I've seen a distinct lack of whining about it which makes me feel like I'm the only one.

I prefer the new one.

The "Lance" was something I've always thought looked a bit odd. IRL I'm an engineer who has had experience working with aircraft. I've always thought of the lance as an antennae array that was simply modeled as a lance for simplification and performance reasons. The new look is far more realistic.

The new "Chunky" look also mirrors what the ship is. It's a "tough nut". It should be big and chunky and look "hard".

Fair point, proper antenna is definitely more realistic and I can see how an engineer would value that. Realistic and Eve are worlds apart though and for me the lance was an iconic part of the hull even if it made no sense and it really lost some of it's flavour by losing it.

They could put a lance of translucent material around the antenna to have the best of both worlds.

Hmm I would be able to accept that, but they'd also have to make it sleeker. The whole fat thing bothers me alot as well.

I think the new one is one of the best looking ships atm, and the hull animations are awesome.

I really don't want to fly a meat thermometer, the ship used to be majestic.... but come on meat thermometer!?

Ah well a roll back or some sort of additional change to the hull seems unlikely so I guess we've lost the good old Incursus forever. I never understood why CCP had to change things that nobody complained about. The Incursus hull looked awesome always unlike the BB/Moa hulls which definitely needed some work. If you're out there and reading this CCP art team. Please. Save the lance!

You are not the only one, however I prefer the new model over the old one.

It's a matter of taste, if some day CCP decides do something about the Dominix, for example, there will be people with tears of joy and tears of sadness.

In an off topic comment, please CCP remake the Dominix... =P

Plus the hull animations are perdy.

Oh and I like the new lance better.

What lance? Those spindly antenna don't compare to the majestic lance of old Incursus. IMO the old hull with the new color scheme/lighting all the other ships got would have been awesome. They also could have added some animations without changing it so much.

Change is difficult and I wouldn't have put the Incursus anywhere near the top of the list of ships that needed an update but I have to say I love the new design.
