Another Little Thing: Item Hangar Divisions

Small suggestion but this would be nice to have and probably not difficult to implement. I've found with EVE vs. other games that you end up with items all over the shop. Drives me mental.

It would be nice to be able to subdivide your item hangar into sections (e.g. put all the ship modules in one section, trade goods in anothers, miscellaneous in another, etc.).

Currently you can do this with freight containers - but you cannot repackage or stack items from inside a freight container (you have to move them to your hangar, repackage, then move them back).

so wouldn't it be easier to just let you stack items in containers(something that was just recently posted about) giving a player more combustibility rather than giving them subdivided hangers?

I can't say whether it would be easier or not. If it is then this would certainly work \o/

I'd say that allowing players to do more actions on items inside containers would be a much better option than creating personal hangar divisions. I'm not only talking about repackaging and stacking, but also about everything else, such as repairing and reprocessing(this can already be done, but items need to be dragged to an already open reprocessing window, you can't use the right-click menu) items. Let's not forget that containers give indy players something to do!

Also, creating contracts from the inside of a container! Did you ever need to contract an item to someone, which was inside a container 50 jumps away? It's not easy.

Station Containers are your friend. You can rename them, lock them, and generally do everything you want with divisions.

Seriously. You can thank me later. :)

Actually, using freight containers is a much better option, since we are talking about personal hangars here.
While the largest freight container only has a capacity of 250k m3, it's big enough for most purposes, and unlike station containers you can repackage and rename them at any time: station containers can't be repackaged 2 weeks after the last log entry was made on it, which happens when you rename it.

I'd be fine with freight containers. That is what I'm using now. I'm really not too picky about the specifics, I just think that some system for organizing item hangars that allows repackaging, contracting, etc. from within hangar subdivisions or containers is necessary.
