I am not of your people, no. Because my people are the Minmatar in the Empire, the slaves and former slaves still living here. Not people like you, who have never known slavery but still rally against it as if you know any better for us than the Amarr do.

YOU are a graduate of Republic University. YOU chose to flee free space for the gaudy, cruel ways of the Ammar.

And it's Dr. Ganagri to you, maulaa.

I count myself lucky to have never experienced chains as so many of my people have, but I still feel the sting of the slaver's lash. My father fought and killed so that I would live my live on my own terms - yet he bears more than his fair share of scars. My mother died giving birth to me because of her exposure to the vitoc poison in her mother's womb. What have you lost? Do you care? Did you submit to the slavers to save your own skin? We have a word for you in the desert: Jasharuk'tuu - an outcast that put their own animal instincts ahead of their loyalty to the tribe.

Yes, I'm a graduate of Republic University, Dr. Gangari. Do you really think that means I lived in the Republic all of my life? After my family were freed, we moved to the Republic, as happens with many former slaves. But as Del'thul will also tell you, the Republic can never be a home for us, especially for those of us that refused to give up our faith. You murder people like us, like the Martyr Abel Jarek and Uldas Dreeter. Just ask Del'thul, she sacrificed hundreds of thousands of faithful former slaves because she couldn't accept that some of us embraced what she didn't.

I moved back to Amarr when I could, because that's my home.

No former slave will ever really become what the Republic wants us to become, because your culture isn't our culture. It hasn't been for generations.

I don't suppose it's ever occured to you that we rally against it because we don't want to know it. You chose to remain in bondage, and I can respect your choice. sadly your religion doesn't give the option of not choosing bondage. so we fight it.

The Ushra'Khan have always been very good at preparing for war, but less good at aiming for peace.

With what I said in mind, Their aims for peace must be rather high then.

The Ammar culture isn't "your" culture either - everything about it has set your people up to fail and persist in this universe with their lives in the hands of cruel strangers. However, I am not unsympathetic to your position and I will cease trying to convince you. One day you will see the truth for yourself. It will either destroy your weak, simple mind or it will give you the kick in the head you so desperately need.

You were so advanced that it took a day to do most of the work required to conquer you.

Oh Rodj, you know better that lasted generations.

I count it a mark of that Matari civilization that we never enslaved the other races of eve... as would most right thinking people.

War and death make people, who come with weapons.
Your people are obsessed with it, your primitive urge to avenge, to kill and to destroy even those, who don't relate to your troubles is really disturbing.

Put your weapons down for a moment and think. If you continue war, you will spill lots of blood of your people. Is this what you want?

There is always a road to the peace, to preserve your people, your land, your cities. Enough of senseless destruction. Turn yourself to God, and let Him guide you away from unnecessary violence.

Remind me again who was responsible for the Day of Darkness ?

War and Death were brought to us.

We will return it with interest.

Accept word of God, and there won't be War and Death. Don't repeat mistakes of your ancestors, for they paid great price for them.

You can live with peace, if you want. Always remember, that you are not alone. There are peoples in your ships. There are peoples on your planets and colonies. If anger consumes your soul and you will sink in flames of senseless and absurd vengeance, if you don't care about your own body and spirit, think about everyone else around you. Your flames will consume them. Those, who will follow you and obey your command... those, who will join you, or support you. Children and women on your planets. So many lives can be lost because of your actions. And I am not talking about our, Amarr lives. I am talking about YOUR people, whom you willingly push into slaughter by merely association with you.

Think what you do, and have mercy to them, for they are your kin and your blood.
And let the God forgive you...

As I already posted above we don't count as civilized a society that thinks in terms of master and slave.

Why? You certainly have had slavery in your far past. Perhaps you've evolved beyond that point now (although Havohej would suggest that you are certainly capable of devolving back in that direction) but you certainly have the concepts within your culture - even before the Amarr could have put them there.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Absolutely correct.
Even today, the taking of thralls as spoils of victory on the battlefield still persists amongst a rare few clans.
And it is their right to do so.

I thought condescendingly telling people about the history of their own cultures was a bad thing only Gallenteans did and Caldari would never stoop to.

That would not work if I were in their corporation. Also, I eat neut Dominix fleets for breakfast.

It's RR Dominix fleets that are my bane. You make sure your boss remembers that, should we ever find ourselves on opposite sites of the same battlefield.

I meant the minmatar militia, and uh, OK I'll relay that message I guess? Didn't really know there was bad blood, or much of any of it for that matter (I try not to ask too many questions honestly).
