Shield AND Armor?

yes is there a way to rebalanse armor and shield defense in a ship and not choose only one kind if yes does this surprise the enemy in pvp and if yes what ship do u suggest? assuming no pendraising or insurance payment only bounties.

If you want to surprise the enemy, hull tank. Using both mids and lows for tanks is only gimping your fit. At least leave enough fitting for a cyno gen if you want to play the bait tank. Or be the obvious primary.

You could experiment with something like this.

"Enduring", "restrained" and "ample" as designations for starship components are foreign to the genre of high-tech science fiction and don’t belong in Eve Online. (And as for “scoped” …)

No, that does not surprise the enemy; they kill you, they loot your stuff, and will only look at the fitting on their killboard later, and laugh at it. No time to check during the fight, so no surprise.

Tanking works like protecting against a tsunami wave: it's better to have one tall wall than two small walls. Ship has limited slots and limited power grid, use them to build one strong defense (armor or shield) rather than two weak defenses.

first up is this a question or an observation? in other words do you want to know something or want to tell people something you have learnt

second no you cannot, for reasons already mentioned by the helpful people whom chose to give their opinion's of this idea, and no it's not a good idea either, the enemy isn't surprised in the least, and a ship to suggest? well opinions vary but maybe Gnosis. LOL fit. certainly has the capacity to fit it that way, though is a bit inefficient Big smile to say the least.

no idea on pendraising and insurance plays little role in this topic, bounties, not sure how that works with this either.

i read the OP's "question/observation as a two part and a mystery lucky dip.

i'm probably wrong translating the overall meaning. but almost got a headache reading it.

OP, I will play dumb this time and assume you are not doing this for trolling, but you can use a Gnosis to "surprise" other pilots since it has no specific bonuses. But that's about it, you should either stick to hull or shield tanking for best results.

Elena, are you in lowsex or hisec? Make sure you are docked and that you drop all corp roles before opening the fitting window and pressing #69 to turn off Caller ID.

i find the fit for gnosis thank you all for help..i put shield boost instead of 3 hull repaires in med slots
