Potentially. And what if you try to push more people in that dev team and towards Incarna and suddenly potentially it doesn't pay off? "Oh no. We have to lay off whole team because we don't have enough money to pay for tap water" Shocked

The sad guy will come, than this guys, and at the end...

I think they have to be carefull developing all those games at once.

Clothing items are a way for CCP to influence PLEX prices.
Thsy are a nice and decent way of income.

The only thing missing is CCP adapting to the potential,
to make efficient use of it.

I haven't successfully invested countless hours in this just for a clueless doomsayer
coming here talking crap about something he has no understanding of.

Yes, that's you.

And I want to second the person who said that the NeX store preview should allow us to preview multiple things at once. Having to buy one piece to see how it might look with another piece is incredibly annoying. Also, we should be able to access the clothes we normally have access to in addition to the stuff in the store.

I almost always look at how the clothing fits in SISI before I buy it on TQ, whether with AUR or ISK.

That's a great idea!

Here's a really sexy visual experience that k8 uploaded, and I don't mean just the piloting. The atmosphere and the immersion had me in so deep I lost all voluntary muscle control just watching it. It's relevant as an example of why an overall opinion of being happy with what we've got is all kinds of wrong.

Do you have more understanding about Incarna and game development than anyone out of CCP now? Please share the knowledge.

Or did I stung too deep with my doomsaying? Twisted

I can be more bitter than that, easily. That was nothing.

I really don't care about your doom scenario example, or anyone saying Incarna was a failure.

I do see potential with Incarna as a concept, as many others. But after seeing what CCP have done with WoD, "there was not much gameplay to it", and realizing that Incarna suffered the same fate even earlier, I know that the next project so grandeur will not come to EVE.

Come on, cloths, that is all we can get, and 2 people in that team. This viking lost both hands, holding the wrong side of the sword, trying to swing at oponents that watched it and smiled, with a realization that this sword will ultimately be theirs, and they will hold it right, maybe not swing it, but they know its shine can lure others. Ah, so you don't get who the responsible party is for Incarna. Pretty sure WoD and Incarna had slightly different causes. One management, the other the players. Lumping them into the same ...category... is not accurate.

It's impolite to call people names, no matter the likeness to the description. I do not engage in such activity, so when Incarna rabblers are called angry neckbeards with no fashion sense anyway, I very, very strongly detest such personal attacks. For the sake of brevity and to identify them as a group, it's much more correct to refer to them by their actions, or "monument shooters."

Monument shooters basically need to be sat in a corner when it comes to things they don't understand. The growth of a game I like has been stunted enough. I would like more acknowledgement for the avatars who obey our commands, which I enjoy. After all, EVE is not a first-person simulation, and it is the avatar who pilots a ship, not you.

We've played spaceken and barbie complete with a pink malibu corvette all along, and most players don't even know it.

So you decided to take a conversation where CCP was gracious enough to provide insight into their current bandwidth and capabilities, and you turned it into an Incarna rant? The unfortunate thing about this is that I know you realize, as much as I do, that your rant will accomplish nothing.

Character Creator is an aspect of the game that exists and CCP is actively building on it and cautiously optimistic about it.

If you don't think they are optimistic enough, then build a platform for feedback to CCP that would drive them to rethink their CC design headcount. If you have better ideas for design, then provide them without going on a diatribe about how poor of a job the designers are doing.

And it goes without saying, put the Incarna rant to rest and instead concentrate your energy on the so-called low hanging fruit. You are wasting your energy otherwise, you really are.

Well ... he had his rant.

Can we move on now?

This thread isn't exactly the official thread to change the game ...
... so why not channel the energy into something productive?

Things won't change from today to tomorrow. While I do not promote WiS in any way or form,
I believe that shouldn't be the goal anyway. We're simply way too far away from that.

A satisfying WiS can not be achieved with the current reality of character costumisation. It's not doable,
simply because absolutely most characters would look alike. There isn't enough emphasis on personality yet.

We should first concentrate on the important stepping stones ...
... before we can reach out for a greater goal.

That's why we're all in this thread anyway, right? Because of character customisation.
Looks. Clothes. Personalities.

And once this point is satisfyingly achieved ...
... we can move on to Expression and Interaction.

Sheesh .... that was one of my better ones.

I want CCP to allow us to wear our goggles on our forehead. This would be a very, very simple change since as the linked image shows they have quite obviously already implemented that functionality into their character creation engine.

"monument shooters."

I have the screenshoots of people shooting it, I looked at the chat, I shunned them, they were afraid of microtransactions, but still we have them. For the most, it was microtransactions, and a lengthy thread about the door, full of memes. I remember what they said earlier about further development of Incarna part and spaceship part, they said many thing about it on fanfest, there was blog about it after the rage, but at the end it was the management who decided to drop the ball, it happened because it was clearly too heavy on development for Icelandic crew, would be too lengthy to implement, spaceships would suffer, and they still tried to push WoD out.

But that is history and now to the point:

You talk about developed characters. They are developed. There is environment and there is gameplay. More clothes will not change this drastically. I had the same feeling about immersion when I started playing the game, as I have now. Immersion without CQ is possible. At the end, its not the pretty graphics what's essential.

Don't get me wrong. Clothes are only a spice to the dish served by spaceships and people ambition. After all it's good spice.

And that was the impressions I got from this talk with CCP devs and overall about the game.

There is no point in talking to you when all you do is present a wall with the goal
to end any talks about this... and that's what you do.

You already have what you got, as you state yourself. You think your level of immersion is enough
and oppose any talks we are trying to have. You represent stagnation and opposition.

There is no need to talk to a wall, so I won't.

I hope others as well understand that you have nothing here to say ...
... because you have your point made and refuse to accept that what you deem as enough ...

... isn't enough for everyone.
