I didn't say that it was any good lol.

A recovering btter vet,  with a fresh toon and a determination to like everything that CCP does to Eve...

Don't take me too seriously though, I like to tease a bit on the forums, but that's only because I love you...

I declare this thread DEAD. Only necro-posters continue past this point.

There is a rule in UI deployment, you always have a option to revert. You apparently do not know this - a UI is such a complex bit, and this IS the interface for EVE - this breaks and the game breaks, so you don't mess around with it as a simple one switch change, regardless... and the damage control for a mess is way more resource intensive than support for a toggle feature. I would hate to have you as a Admin, your philosophy is the way of... pain.

What "rule" are you talking about? Are you talking about the "rules" that govern things like operating systems for desktops, laptops, and phones? Things like iOS, Android, Windows, MacOS, Any version of Linux that has a graphical OS?

You mean those things that have very opinionated UIs and UXs that do not always have the option to revert? Those choices that are set in stone well in advance of release?

Or do you mean that you are talking about a situation where you are working with a web interface where it is semi-non-trivial to A/B test a UI, and that you go with the numeric winner from such testing?

Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure that last bit is what you meant.

Good grief. You should stop pretending to know about these things.

EDIT:
Nevermind. I read the rest of the thread. You are clueless, and my points have already ben made.
Agree with above. No more necro on this one.

I honestly feel like I just read fifty shades of dumb. --CCP Falcon

They are indeed boring.

-1 No point. New UI is not only better, it's a HUGE step forward for the new/next things CCP wants to do.

Anyone feeling 'nostalgia' (lol), can simply turn off blur, turn off transparency, and choose which ever color they want.

Voila done...

Been around since the beginning.

Why would you want them to spend resources maintaining two systems indefinitely? After a short intro period the old system should be removed entirely, assuming it is actually good.

There is a rule in UI deployment, you always have a option to revert.

Is that why nobody does this?

My official job title is "UI Developer". I am not aware of any such rule. In fact, we just rolled out a new UI for the software I develop, and there is no option to revert. It would be a programming nightmare.

I just want the old icons back. Other than that no major issues with the new UI.

They are similar enough that people just need to get over it and learn the new UI.

That's general rule in software development and it doesn't apply to the finished product, but the dev's own codebase and version control. I'm sure the *option* to revert is right there in their working copies.

-1 for OP's suggestion

+1 to be able to opt-out of the annoying and functionally (mostly) useless dynamic brightness (especially for modal windows!!!)

Fine, keep your ****** icons and dull colors. All i want is rgb sliders, old style transparency and a way to stop all windows from blinking when the camera is moved (i see it every time and its driving me crazy)
