I'm going to have to go with the game bit also. If it is causing you genuine distress then you probably need to put some distance between it and you until that changes. I'm serious here, we all play for fun (well, most of us at least) and if a setback in the game is enough to make it either not be fun for you or generate actual real life pain and emotional suffering then it's probably something you should not get too involved with.

As far as the people here go, I wouldn't be too fast with the labels. I've found that many of them are downright helpful if approached in a courteous and civil manner with questions about many matters within the game. There are things they are intolerant about, and those things vary from person to person, but most have their own reasons for that.

To put things further into perspective: You just walked into a forum filled with fun loving thugs, hooligans, ne'er do wells and mercenaries who's favorite past times include theft, property destruction, face melting and the collecting of frozen corpses... and stepped up on a soapbox and declared that you had just been victimized by one of their ilk due to not paying close attention to the fine print on a market deal. Had you taken this to NPQA you would have gotten a more civil response, but here what happened is pretty typical, even mild in comparison to some others.

I hope this sheds a little light on things. It's not a matter of sociopathy or lack thereof, it's a matter of the roles taken up by the players in the game. Most of us are pretty decent folks outside the game, but inside it (including here) some of us are complete bastards and we like it that way.

Updated tl;dr. Op tears and begs for isk. Then halfway through realizes what a horrible mistake he has made. Calls everyone a sociopath and changes the OP to "Social Experiment" to cover his ass.

I blew up a few people's ships lately, got mails from one asking questions, took time to answer and be helpful.

Another one I got in my personal chat room and explained how and why he died in game. He wasn't even mad, just a bit peeved about it. Sent him some ISK to replace the loss.

For most people, this is considered an obvious scam, that's why the reactions were accordingly.
We do, however, cherish newbies.
So, if this whole thing was an attempted scam and you are an adorable newbie still learning the ropes, just feel free to ask and people here will be happy to give you valuable tips on how to improve your craftsmanship.
