Star Map Statistic: PI Import/Export

What would everyone think of a PI stat for a system?

It could be either volume (m3) import/exported in 24hrs or tariff /tax paid over 24hrs. If it were both you could infer a lot of information from the two stats. If it were the former, i guess this could hurt PI developers by signaling systems with high activity. Even then if it was a lot of volume it could just be people importing a lot of P0. If it were the latter you could nerf your system stats by building your own POCOs and charging no tax, or you could also possibly see where taxes were outrageous.

Thoughts comments, i don't know how this would affect nullsec, but it could give a little more transparent industrial profile of regions.

More out of game intel on in-game events?

Not sure we need more detailed intel tools providing for automated, out of game data mining on populations and activity levels.

My perspective is from a PvP one though, not industrial.

It would be a fairly useless statistic most days as a lot of planets only export product every few days (some hi-sec setups run for a week or more).

One option would be to develop an API tool that corporate directors can use to monitor wallet transactions for taxes placed on a corporate POCO.

It would be up to the user to decide whether or not to make the associated data public and in what format.

I think a useful public statistic maybe how many POCOs a system has and the average tax rate. This provides some measure of strategic intelligence (both from an industrial and PvP perspective), but lacks the tactically useful information of "when is someone exporting valuable stuff."

Why not take the OP's idea as a new map filter in-game?

I.E. color the star systems by PI activity?

No need for an out of game stat, just make it part of the meta-info already ready about the star systems.

@bath sheeba. That was what I meant. I'm not sure how people interpreted "star map statistic" as out of game data.
