So you agree with me.

Then your posts where unclear.

Just to say it again.
I am not against ganking.
But i am against something what one might call "aggresive tear whoring". Targeting the people behind the monitor not the in game alts. It seems that is OK for ppl like Black Pedro, but if they get real life threads, they want to play innocent victims.

Thats childish behavior, denying the possiible consequences of their own actions.
Are they young children? Toddlers? Or educated adult hypocrites?

Why indeed?

Anyway, wrong direction, *you* would have to rise.
I am not begging for a "gf".

yes I agree with you attacking someone that can't defend them self is cowardly and saying GF for that is just bull

I'll have to re- read what I and clear it up later

A good Fight is one that is a challenge if a miner challenges you and you blow them out of the sky then fair enough there fault but but GF for a good fight is a sign of respect On Doom Lord Alpha Foxtrot used to roam nul sec we lost ships we gained ship and respect was shown until you didn't show it back.
attacking a miner in nul sec is fair game as no one is safe there but that's because it nul sec the rules don't apply.

saying that most of the time the random noob that made it into nul sec to mine would be told to leave or left to the belt rats anyway

I removed the post before already.
It wasn't adressed at you. Are you pedro?
I was -10 loooong before your char was even born.

-10 in highsec isn't hard, no matter what. If you dont believe it,
I can prove it to you as soon as I reach it again.

But I know, like all the other facts pointed out for you,
you will rather choose to ignore, because reality shatters your fake belief.

Also ... lol look at that rage.

People deserve some common decency. When I lose my ship in a failed gank, or while doing something unrelated to ganking I always give a 'gf'. It's just a game and if another player beats me in an encounter I think it only polite to offer a 'gf'.

You stink of hypocrjsy right now.

I am not even -10 right now. But to the point, I am not exactly sure how you think ganking should be done to be "honourably", but aside from bouncing around in a Thrasher hunting random pods and shuttles, it is essentially impossible to gank without a warp-in because of the game mechanics. There is no way I can land on a belt and reach a miner before the faction police grab me unless the miner is right on the warp-in point. And haulers, especially the big ones, require even more coordination.

Remove the faction police and you might get what you want, but until then, we are limited to ganking the only way the game mechanics allow.

No, the facpo stays. The game as -10 is easy enough already.
The facpo makes it at least challenging.

Just because your FCs dont teach you how to play as outlaw ...

Good question. I sense an incoming cleanup if not an outright lock.

This thread suffers from derailment not only because it's a touchy subject, but as I pointed out to Epeen earlier, the question asked doesn't actually target anyone. The question "why the hate?" was met with several "I don't hate you" answers and none whatsoever confirming animosity to the miners.

As such, I'm not sure there's much more to be said on the matter.

Nah, blowing up miners and freighters using the traditional methods is pretty fun. Perhaps there is something even more fun out there, but I am having a pretty good time enforcing the Code as it is.

If you some ideas to make it more fun and engaging you'd like to share, perhaps you could start a post in Crime & Punishment as we are drifting quite far off topic.

It's entirely true. If you elect not to defend yourself you deserve whatever happens to you. The main reason people elect not to defend themselves is yield, be it actual mining yield or greater cargo capacity. That right there is PvP: you're banking on being successful by taking a greater risk for a greater reward, whilst others are trying to prevent that happening.

In addition to being terrible, your analogy falls flat against a sniper. Throwing insults around and letting your blood boil shows that you should probably step back and take a few deep breaths. This is just a game - don't let it get to you so much.

So... if no one called it PvP you wouldn't be complaining then, right?

Because I can't see anyone caring whether it is or is not called that but you.

Again, though, what if anything does this have to do with any perception of miners being hated?

I won't go on with this.

Ghost is way too obsessed with this. What he does is drawing feelings from the things happening in the game,
raging shen there are things happening that do not support or run against his beliefs.

I suggest getting a life. And a new hobby.
When this makes your blood boil, then you are doing it wrong.
Next to all the other things I have stated.

I don't want to risk that this guy loses it and hurts people for stuff in a videogame.
He's way too in it for my taste.

No thanks.

Hi All,

As a miner, i come across this all the time, but what i don't understand is, why so much hate towards miners?

Eve is a sandbox that every game wants to be, where people get to make there own stories, it's not whole PVP, PVE or whatever.

So why the hate? QuestionQuestion

the short answer is that this is simply the ugly side of human nature for the long answer I refer you to "the Stanford prison experiment"

http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&sqi=2&ved=0CB4QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.prisonexp.org%2F&ei=XRaTVNRjl4ihBNPXgKgN&usg=AFQjCNEbUZArNSrtIZU5SX64Zc0_dfkhUg&sig2=Kt_CDJ66SUcgP0ntfKmOhw

IMO this behavior has its roots in bigotry , as any one who choses to hate another human being based on what they do or who they are is a text book bigot period and as the Stanford study I sited makes clear it does not matter in the least that this is "just a game" every person involved in that nasty incident knew full well that none of it was "real". and yet the effects were so insidious that even the people running the study lost control and the situation became so frightening that it was shut down the moment some one from out side the situation saw what was going on.
is EVE that bad? obviously not. but that does not change the dynamics involved and imo one "plays the villain" at ones own risk and if you are not self aware enough of your own motivations in doing so the risk is that much greater.
yes this is a game but your attitudes toward others be they in the game or out are VERY real.
