Im using a cache scanner.

If i browse the market...

How long will it take for the cached results to be written into my HD?

Do the result stay in RAM for a while?

They are written immediately. Most of the time anyway. Cache files that have been written once already and haven't changed are not written again, so I guess it keeps them in memory somewhere as well.

thank you.

Want to make sure i understand this.

Are you saying these cache files will never deleted or overwritten by the game as time goes on? They stay on your PC forever with the same contents?

I'm not exactly certain. My only experience is in reading and then deleting them (to load market information) manually. I've always assumed EVE had a decent way fo dealing with any extra files I didn't have any business with Blink

I've heard tales of EVE becoming very slow after the cache had been filling up for a while, but I've never encountered the problem myself. Since the cache file names are only 4 characters long, I imagine that after a few hundreds of thousands they get overwritten :P

They might also be deleted when EVE next starts, this is something you can easily test out for yourself.
