The Blackbird looks like a crab.

After I saw what was done with the Moa, in the previous expansion, I was really looking forward to seeing what the Blackbird would look like. I don't like it.

It looks like a crab! It's a black fracken crab!

It's little arms raise up when you warp. It seems like they should be up all the time, and then lower when you warp.


CCP did you get the animation backward?

This thing is going to take a long time to get use to, if ever.


"Oh God, help us! We're being attacked by crabs!"


Anyone else? . . . CCP?

Anything is better than the old model. It looked like a 1970's ski condo that was sucked into orbit by a sharknado.

Gotta say though I'll never fly one I like its new aesthetic. Anything remotely symmetrical is pretty A-okay with me.

Who cares about the BB hull. ECM is gay anyway.

Now let's get to the more important things like the removal of the Incursus lance! They ruined one of the most iconic parts of the ship then made it 50% fatter just to guarantee it looks stupid.

Well, it's giant for a crab, and it definitely can be in the enemy gang, so it's appropriate.

I agree, front panels look weird. As in, it's strange to see them opened in warp, and it's strange to see them opened in general. So I dunno.

Future of T3 cruisers - multi-tool they aspired to be instead of sledgehammer they have become

My initial reaction was that it looked like a hyped-up Gecko drone.

In my opinion, the model could have been better used on the Caracal. Here's why: though I had no beef with either the old Blackbird model or the caracal, the new blackbird model looks more menacing than an electronic support ship. The overall theme of hull make it look akin to a stealth bomber, which was a style that was supposed to be more (not exclusively, just *more*) in line with Mordus than Caldari. Anyway, it looks like it should be attacking, not tossing random energy signals at you. So I think it would do better as the model of an attack ship.

Let's discuss overhauling the way we get intel in EvE.

Why not have more crab like ships? Manticore looks crab-like to me. Now BB is similar in Caldari crab design philosophy. Also.. Caldari and Calimari (kalimari?).. there is an underlying aquatic theme for caldari.

Caldari pretend to be menacing pilots that shoot missiles, but are secretly crab people. Quite often caldari pilots "turtle" up when confronted by an enemy, scuttling away to the nearest station.They name their ships after birds to throw people off. Crabmari victors! /tinfoil

In all seriousness though. BB is ok, better than previous design.

Can i has bellicose remodel now? Im tired of flying a ship that looks like a rifle mounted on a bipod (even has laser pointer bonus)

with all the stuff that the new ship carries it makes me think that its full of electronic gadgets and stuff.

Would like to see a new caracal model.

But stop of making symetric ships, thats not the caldari way

When I first saw the proposed changes in a devblog, it didn't appeal to me at all, much like the Moa. Just like the Moa, once I saw it in front of me on the screen, I quickly came to appreciate it's appearance. Thank you, CCP.
