Not entirely sure how this got missed, but the icon on the neocom for the Ore Hold still has a colored picture of a veldspar roid.

Not all, but many.
Read the forum, many asked to add a light background window or RGB color selection.
No need to remove the changes that have been made recently. It would be nice if the developers just added some color schemes, to make it comfortable to play all players.

Asking them to add more color schemes is definitely a reasonable request, but if you haven't already done so you should be specific about what you want.

Many people said that - they will be happy to have a "switch" in options to opt-out from new UI back to old one. And I am one of them. I will be more than happy to get rid of this eye blinding crap.

CCP should offer the option for players to create their own elaborate designs for the interface, keeping the function per button standard but whatever color schemes and how it is designed would be up to the players.

Worked with EverQuest ten plus years ago - amazing how creative players can get when given an open sandbox to play in...

No, that's asking for something entirely different, and not so reasonable.

Do you realize just how much effort it would be to maintain two UIs instead of just one?
More than it's worth, that's how much. It's not some boolean value you can flip and automagically give everyone what they want.

I myself was engaged in various projects related to programming in various languages, and perfectly imagine the complexity of such a correction - only to return function for adjusting the color that has already been before.
Multiple interfaces do not need to - you need one interface with more advanced settings.

Hello,

I have specific lag issues that surfaced right after Rhea:

1- Transitioning from the log in screen to the character screen takes abnormally long time.

2- Transitioning from the character selection screen to the in-game screen takes abnormally long time. The character logs in and shows as online for other players, yet my screen is still black during the transitioning. The black screen period used to be very short.

3- Sometimes while jumping between gates, the gate stutters as soon as it appears on grid during the warp. It rubber bands in front of me until my ship actually lands at 0 meters.

More than 3 years of gameplay and I have never encountered this before.

I have no internet connection issues with all of my other online apps. My connection speed is stable and serving me as it has always done.

Many Thanks

I would appreciate it if anyone can help me as my gameplay has become very laggy and sluggish after Rhea. The above mentioned issues are annoying as I log off and back on to switch between toons too very frequenetly.

I have cleared cache on all accounts , and the deleted all the mails, emptied trash, but that had no effect.
I started a trial account and its right click menus and overall feel was a bit faster. How can duplicate that level of performance in my main accounts?

you mean the syntax "IF" a button is pressed then choose UI1 otherwise UI2 ?
this should be quite easy to apply.

I can understand there may be coding/technical reasons preventing a return to the old UI and RGB sliders. That's fine, as long as the shortcomings of the current implementation are addressed. What if we could have:

1. Slider to adjust window borders from black to white through a range of grays.
2. Slider to adjust window backgrounds from black to white through a range of grays.

Would be a workable solution to the visual clarity issues with the color themes and windows that exists currently. Color sliders would be nice but lack of contrast is the bigger UI design/usability problem right now.

Unfortunately, I'm just a player EVE.

Just an update on my frame rates

and this happened if I recall the last graphic update a few years back

its the sun/light

if I look at a light FPS drops to 30

if I look away from the light back up to 60

Just thought I would up date my findings so far :)

dam game rocks lol

Just thought I would confirm this on my A10-5800k system, using just the APU.
I have no clue if this is new in this patch, had not considered this before you mentioned it.

1920x1080 anti aliasing, post processing and shadows off, everything else max.
Sun anywhere on screen, 75-90 FPS.
Sun out of view, 125-135 FPS.

1920x1080 Everything on max,
Sun anywhere on screen, 47 fps
Sun out of view, 57 fps

Much less difference in the latter, but still,
I'm quite curious why this is, and this is worth keeping in mind for FPS, as It appears the sun can be quite a significant slowdown in some cases.

Feedback on icon designs :

Ok, about more than a week into Rhea, this needs calling out.

There are too many "circular" motifs that bear similarities to one another. This is not about personal taste, it's about clarity - especially when it involves the peripheral vision. Let me remind you again on the debacle a few years back when someone clever decided to replace the guns (and modules icons) with some brown colored, indistinctly shaped asteroid? turd? Take your pick.

Please re-examine these icons for redesign/modifications :

Ship Fitting (Neocom & Station panel)
Ship Insurance (Station panel)
Bounty Office (Station panel)
Notepad (Neocom)
Journal (Neocom)

- The Ship Insurance and Ship Fitting icons aren't distinct enough as both have similar motifs (ship enclosed bounded by a shape) and size. To make the Ship Fitting icon more distinct, for example, you would resize the the ship to the size of the circle and remove the circle altogether. There's already an example for this icon when you open up the Incursion global report.

- The Bounty Office is a variation of the Ship Insurance motif. Again, not enough dissimilarities. I certainly understand the reasoning behind these to preserve consistency, however, that's not what's important for this case. There are plenty of other iconic interpretations that can be used to represent a bounty office that is 100% unique and distinct, you're just not thinking hard enough.

- The same issue applies to Notepad vs Journal. Wtf people? Is this the best that you can do? It's also one of the easiest to fix if you're lazy.
Just remove the pen/pencil from the Notepad icon. The alternative, make a new Journal icon that looks like a diary (how hard is this?!!!!) - no pen/pencil on it.

That said, the rest look decent enough to get by without too much trouble.

How about we get our choice? Seems that s all we are asking for here. It is not a one size fits all type of game, never has been and never should be, it's all about options.

This is the simplest I can make this: http://imgur.com/GOuElfq

Top is harder on your eyes, bottom is more lenient. As a bonus it's easier to read because the contrast between the text and background is not as acute.

Implement windows to have permanently this setting and stop them from changing colours every time I turn the camera or focus them please.

The ui really needs to be more adaptable. After a week of playing its still a downgrade.I still prefer the way everything was a couple of years ago.Best way to get used to these dreadful designs is to stop playing for a month or two.

From reading the old threads, there was a lot of support for making a new interface.
However there were immediately a lot of problems with the implementation, and reading between the lines, the big issue is:

Customization!

The old interface had a LOT more settings, things that could be disabled if people didn't like specific parts, and many slider bars for colors, and transparency.

The new one is pretty much, "you better like the default settings", because there are some preset color options, a blur tickbox, and one transparency slider, and that's it.

Gradually come to the conclusion:
And why write?

No one responds, interface settings do not change, no one responds to the message.

A waste of time, to let off steam players.

Well i think thats actually their plan, they are still really hoping that we get used to the new UI. But for me thats not going to work because the UI just doesnt work.

Have tried it again and again but havent been really playing eve for a week now. Still getting hurting eyes and a crazy feeling when touching the market and orders. And trading is or better was allmost all a i really liked in eve :(

I even tried a bit of PVP and while the new UI was still disturbing (why on earth does my whole screen go black while i enter a new standard orbit?) it was ok. But as soon as i really start to work with the UI it drives me crazy.

Certain input windows cause the screen to go dark when they pop up (splitting a stack in your inventory among them... I mean, seriously?).

This is massively annoying. Please remove that feature or at least make it optional or at the very least exclude the split stack pop up window from this.
(As it is, it makes me want to strangle someone - preferably the person who came up with this idea - every time I trade for a few minutes... and I hardly trade for more than a few minutes per session these days, because I can't stand this screen flshing.)

No, because if they did this every time they made a change to the game, the client would be too bloated to play.
