If negative feedback is censored is this really a forum?

It has been a disturbing trend that threads critical of where this game is going are being censured. I am not sure why this is suddenly occurring but I think it very disturbing that it is.

In the past this was a true forum where people were able to discuss CCPs decisions in a free and open manner. Now it seems that if your thread is not about "who is the most attractive avatar" or similar fluff it is loosely classified and locked.

Which isn't to say you cannot be critical of other players behaviors. This is tolerated.

So my question is, is EvE doing so well and is CCP doing such a good job that there is no room for criticism? Or are we being censored?

Maybe they just want constructive criticism.

I love the joke behind your post. :D

Why does it matter, what a forum is?

We live in an Idiocrazy here. Terrorised by the talkative.
The censorship comes from the masses, ISDs just clean up.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

If you can post negative feedback without breaking the forum rules then it will not be censored, you can't seem to do that.

Tbf if you start topics with "I'm not ranting, BUT....waaaaaaah" nobody really cares if the mods slap you about. It's actually pretty funny.

If you want to provide feedback on patch releases, try posting in the patch release feedback thread. Then a dev can slap you.

This. Criticism is welcome, angry rants are not.

Because the downvote mechanics allow the readers to mini mod and dropkick bad topics into oblivion?

No, threads that provide constructive negative criticism are not locked unless they are redundant reposts. Threads that just rant and call something crap without discussion are locked for ranting. This is not censorship, it's taking out the trash. Here, let me show you the difference.

Criticism: This is a new problem I've discovered, I don't like it, it's bad, and here is why

Rant: This is crap and your game is crap and I'm quitting and WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE NEWBS!!

And even if you are being censored, so what? CCP is a private company, not an elected government. You don't have to give them your money.

Adding a C doesn't make them something they're not. Politicising this doesn't make you clever, it actually just makes you kinda trashy. But I wouldn't expect better from a Spaceship Samurai. I've had so many teary rage mails from your alliance specifically after killing them that if I put them all together into one long mail, it would read like a tragic novel of woe.

Babies scream all the time, for no good reason, and our society (justifiably) severely punishes taking an axe to them, so I'm not sure what the effect of screaming trees would be.

ISDs don't lock constructive criticism threads as long as they're not redundant, repetitive, trolling, capslocked whine threads masquerading as criticism threads...
