It appears that the star is displayed as part of the background in the Proteus expansion page. Any one happen to know what the structure is in that same image?

Give it another day or so and we'll have to start calling it Caroline's Nebula, that star is almost completely gone. Also, it's turning the most pleasant shade of Jovian Green! http://i.imgur.com/7ng7oGH.jpg

supernova or possibly a Hypernova depending on the stellarmass of the star,

or something totaly science fiction as to be anyones guess

Theory, a star has gone hypernova, the sleepers are now lookin for someplace to move to because their home has just went poof and will invade the known eve universe forceing enemies to ally aginst the massive invasion from hell...

Has anyone within the EVE Lore seen this star with their naked eye? Just thinking that an explanation for the wacky physics is that it's not actually happening and is just being inserted into our camera drone feeds...

That's not an SOE logo.

It does however bare an uncanny resemblance to the Polaris Corp Logo :D

Why a Polaris logo is on an SOE ship is another question altogether.
