Same happened to me before. Those days there is a lot of lag to dock in Jita 4-4. Most stations you can dock instantly but because of Jita lag (tm) if can take multiple seconds to dock after warping. I even got delay up to 30 seconds once.
There is really nothing one can do until CCP fixes the lag issues except using ships which cannot be alpha'ed.

Thats not lag, you landed outside the docking range bubble of the station.
