Here's a small change to the market interface that could be easily implemented with existing data, but would give the market a whole lot more depth.

The change is simple: in the purchase pop-up window, incorporate an additional data field to show who it is you're buying from or selling to. I threw together a quick-and-dirty example of what it might look like here. It doesn't clutter the interface at all and allows you to see who you'll be giving money to (or taking money from).

Obviously, the idea could be a lot more refined (displaying alliance and corporation membership as standard, integrating the same feature into the basic market window) but at a base level, this would allow people to avoid selling to or buying from people they dislike and gain intelligence on who's selling what at which prices. I think this relatively minor change would add a lot to the game for very little investment of effort.

Since you can only ever buy from the lowest bidder anyway, just buy one item and check your transaction journal…

(S)he's not trolling. The system automatically purchases from the lowest bidder in the station, even if you select a higher bidder.

And I don't see this being much use anyways for anything but identifying the Margin Trading scam alts that people use to put up the buy orders.
