Years back (in 2008) there was a system introduced called Alchemy. It allows players to replace one moon mineral type with another in a reaction. Simultaneously, it created a bottelneck on a particulary R32 named: Technetium. While in the past R64 were the moons to own, it shifted to this R32. Before the alchemy changes even hit Tranquility, massive warnings from concerned players were given; ingame and out of game.

These R32 "existed completely in one distinct region of the game". The result of this massive isk injection, practically given to the lucky space inhabiters, combined with the poor sov mechanics led to a super capital arms race. The more supers the more moons you could capture and defend. With each moon equaling a mothership (16b) a month and having close to 200 in 1 region, it was a recipient for 0.0 geopolitical disaster.

As a result, certain powerbocs grew exponential. Small alliances were defenseless subjected and 0.0 stagnated in the big blue donut. As the butterfly affect is stong in EVE, even today, 6 years after, the consequences are still present.

The source damage got fixed two years later but on a personal level, integrity in ccp neurtality for certain playergroups has been compromised so much, that i simply didnt took eve seriously anymore. I stopped playing, withdrew all my activities and said: **** you eve. The general concensus in all of my corporation, in my alliance, cointained all the same attidude. I became a very disgruntled customer. And i still am! Pixels are pixels but thinking about the lost time; represented by effort and emotions; that hurts when they are flushed trough the toilet on such a way.
The rules of customer satisfaction sais that it is harder to turn a disgruntled customer back into a satisfied one, than just turn a new fresh customer. But what if the new customer pool is only soo limited and most choisen advertising way of eve, by playing customers is by word of mouth?

Im problay going to far now, just some sunday ramblings of a old old eve veteran who's post get probaly trolled away on his grammar errors. Reminding him on his technetium warnings post's, which are hilarius given the fact it all came true.

The point: Now the responsible developer finaly left eve, i would like to raise the question; why so late?
Years of potential growt has been ruined!

"THE MAN" will always be in control. Not only do goonsworm and PL want to hold me down and make me an oppressed worker bee but so does CCP. And when they are all replaced by someone/something else that someone or something will be "THE MAN". The trick is figuring out how to outsmart them all and therein lies the satisfaction.

"First they ignore you.
Then they laugh at you.
Then they fight you.
Then you win."
