But as despicable as some of these feelings are (such as hate), it is better they act socially rotten and inept in a game than to project these feelings of inadequacies outside a forum and face-to-face, as the consequences can be much more dire. The lesser of two evils, I suppose.

Hold on... what if... no seriously WHAT IF... eve is just an incredibly boring game that is only made interesting by player conflict. No seriously, I lived in high security space for a while. About 7 months actually. I only logged on to the game when I needed to update my skill queue and ran a mission like once a week. I cannot even feasibly imagine how you could play eve "full time" in hi-sec. It's literally worse then any other mmo if you play it like that, a point I think was made well and truthfully in Zero Punctuation's review of the game a few years back (never mind that he disregarded all the things that make the game good).

I respect your choice to play the most boring game in existence, but mutual hostility is a part of the nullsec culture. A gentlemen's agreement to try and wreck each other's **** as hard and as frequently as possible. We don't hate each other, and we don't hate you, we're just trying to make the game interesting and dynamic for the both of us because without that there would literally be no reason to play eve instead of wow or microsoft excel.

All the hate stems from excessive neckbeard alcohol consumption.

I don't know about you but when I play online games I expect people to be socially inept by default.

People are already complete douches in real life. Anyone who expects people to behave otherwise in an online setting with near anonymity and especially in a game like EVE which tends to reward collective douchebaggery, is severely deluded.

I'm not saying you can't be a Dudly Do-Right if that's how you want to play but you shouldn't expect everyone else to be and act like you're socially superior to them, as if your online persona means you're the kind of person that would run into burning buildings in real life to save babies and a ganker's online persona means they're the kind of people that would throw the babies into the fire.

You bet I do. You know why? Because there are people like you and a few (very vocal) others that prove your hate for carebears every day. All it takes is a history post search to get the picture.

See, there are people that don't particularly like the "carebear" play style while at the same time not hating on it. These people could really and genuinely care less. But you are not one of these people. You don't like the carebear play style, can't understand why people choose to play differently from you, and hate on them for that. You insult them and place them beneath your "superior" style. I believe you equated them with "watching trees" in real life just a couple of days ago. And I'm almost certain you prefer to see them leave your game.

And you know what? That's fine. I expect people like you to hate, demean, and insult "carebears". But at least have the decency (I know... fat chance) to come clean about it. Stop pretending like carebearism doesn't bother you while driving you insane.

That's all.

What has this got to do with your post though? I never denied that I and others dislike certain people who play this game, because that was not your accusation. You stated that we are all angry, hateful people who are using the game as a conveneient outlet, and carebears as convenient, arbitrarily chosen targets. But when pushed on it, the best you can do is "I know there are people you don't like"? Yeah, me and everyone else in the world.

MatrixSkye Mk2 wrote:

I don't hate the playstyle. I consider the extreme end of it a stupid waste of your €15 a month, but each to his own.

Again you you provide assertions about what is going on in my head, but nothing more. All you have to go on is that there are people I dislike, and you end up in this fantasy land. Again, thisiswhatcarebearsactuallybelieve.jpg.

Yep, watching trees, or any other example of taking something with endless possibilites and doing as little as possible with it. And merely ceasing to have an effect on my game would be sufficient, leaving is just the most appropriate means.

And I expect people you like to failpost endlessly. Sorry, I don't have a profound follow up to that.

Out of curiosity... what exactly is it you think I do in-game?

Solve the BOT problematic.
Get right of all RMT (ak don't close the eyes ... ingame ally need billing system WTF? -> just one reson: HARDCORE RMT).
Missing balance for items (missing counter moduls, bad joke fitting posibilitys of industrial ships).

And WHY don't they punish an ally, when they call to arms against clearly defensless targets just to **** other player and destroy their fun?!?!

But CCP will notice the consecense early enough when all the industrials are pissed enough and stop paying CCP ....

Matrixskye talking about anonymity when he even has to hide his anonymous in game character with a shiptoasting alt.

I don't consider suicide ganks or pod kills sociopathic, its a game alp about cojflict, risk and loss afterall.

What IS sociopathic are the dim witted idiots that then need to talk **** and think any reply is made of tears.

Why so serious?

Sometimes I think it's more fun to play these forums then playng the game itself.
