What is this EVE Probe, you ask? The short version is that it is a stand-alone app that runs different scenes to test the performance of the EVE graphics engine on your computer. It gathers performance data which is sent to us, and should help us improve the stability and performance of the EVE Client. Check out the dev blog from CCP Snorlax if you want to know a bit more.

We will use this forum channel to post links to the EVE Probe installer.

Please try it out. We will be oh-so-happy if you do!

Feedback:
- The demos stutter a lot on my PC (never saw that ingame)
- When firework is zoomed out, no particle effects are actually rendered
- Why can't I chose between DX9 and DX11, no difference?

You could get some new publicity by refreshing & republishing the original dev blog.

We uninstall the EVE Probe via the control panel. This has worked without issues on our end.

I have downloaded the newest version but when I click "start" button, nothing happens, beside it is changing to "running", is that all? When I click results after some time, there is only "no results yet".

So... it ran the tests and finished all the scenes. Now the big button says "Start" again. How do I know if my information was successfully uploaded to you? Does that happen automatically or do I have to do something? It would be nice if the program told me.

And don't think I didn't notice... AMARR VICTOR!

EDIT: Also, I play the game with two clients running in windowed mode. Does this test give you an accurate representation of my computer's abilities? multiple cores, graphics cards, displays, and playing in windowed mode (in my non-programmer brain) would give different results than just playing through these scenes on the primary monitor in full screen mode. Should I unplug my tv (HDMI = second monitor--which was doing other things at the time, just like when i'm playing eve) and run the test again to give you more/better/different information?

I got a Feature Added!

Aloha!

I am looking forward to this being released to a wider player pool. I am definitely up/down/around for testing anything out you are willing to throw in my diirection, eventhough i be a bit of a huggybear when it comes to nullsec/lowsec areas. But bugs, heck, they seek me out, all I need to do is plug in and here come buglets. Also love the idea of being able to have a large pool of many computational devices for you to aim our gaming lives in a better direction. Already am impressed with the range of hardware I have seen your soft run on, wouldn't mind running this on the many stacks here at home.

Such a soft launch of this, that I asked when it was being released at Eve Down Under, only to be told that it already had been launched, LOL

You will definitly love my upload. It comes from Windows 10 x64 Technical Preview. And before you ask, yes it´s my main OS. The best i´ve ever used(including tux^^). I loved Probe! Nice to see it finally release.
But what has been mentioned is a missing "Data sent" window after the test.
