Yesterday my client ran fine today i run the launcher login fine click play then nothing happens. I have

reinstalled the OS 10.10
run the mac repair tool
removed and reinstalled the game.
tried running the game with out the launcher and nothing
i even tried to submit a bug report and got a there is a problem try again later seems the bug report is as stable as the client.

I had a look at the forums for other people and there are a few others with the same issue their fix was to

1.not play eve
2.buy windows

I might try linux this time.

anyone have any idas?

Did you check the security setting? I found that the game wouldn't run with a corruption error and it turned out that the security setting had locked the game out again after I updated to 10.10.

Riddled with random lockups in both fullscreen and windowed.

Completely unplayable, very likely to lose ships over this.

What's the deal?

Mac client has been boned for way too long now.

From what I can gather on my own investigations, debugging, and reporting, the problem is with the cider (transgaming) component, and the way 10.10 manages memory allocation, not EVE. Unfortunately.

I am continuing my investigations. But Rhea looks to be more stable, in my tests. So far.

I have made several adjustments to my system, the client and my habits to maximise stability of Phoebe and minimise exception lock ups. Contact me if you need help, I am always willing to assist.

Hi
My game crashed yesterday and I had to do a hard reset to get out. The normal alt+tab and force quit route ddin't work. Now the launcher will not run, it simply freezes w/o connecting to the server.
I tried the workarounds mentioned in the forum and deleted the common.ini fite to no avail.
currently getting in game by bypassing the launcher.
any suggestions?

Hello,

1. Rhea Patch. Set shortcuts for the new navigate in space (up, down, left, right). Short-cuts for this new function not working. Other shortcuts work.

I was initially hopeful, but unfortunately after Phoebe the client still locks up unexpectedly. Two different macbooks pro, 13" retina brand new, Yosemite, and 15" non-retina, a bit older, was Mavericks until yesterday. Both fullscreen and windowed. Random lock-ups, unable to infer any pattern. Eve Voice off. Just freezes, picture in place, stops responding to any input (not even the cursor moves), and judging to post-restart position of character, drops from the game too, as if disconnected (perhaps not immediately). Most of the time possible to Cmd-Option-Esc and force-quit, then relaunch form the launcher, but there was one single incident running fullscreen in Yosemite, when it locked up as usual but it wasn't possible to reach OS at all, had to do a hard reboot.

So very disappointing, I was hoping I could enjoy the game on a fresh Mac without resorting to dualbooting.

Let me know if I could help with more technical bugreporting, but I offered the same for several years and we never went anywhere useful.

Exactly the same issues, macbook pro 13", running mavericks
Random lockups, game stops responding, the esc menu works, but there has no effect clicking on quit game. I have to cmd-tab out and force quit the game.

I downloaded it on my mac book pro version 10.9.5

I can download it but as soon as I finish the download, I click the icon but it never loads. It gets stuck at veryfing eve online and nothing happens after that. Please help I have redownloaded 3 times now

Could be, yep 3x in a row, a failed download.

Stop seeding ****Blink and try again. In other words make sure nothing else is down/uploading while you're downloading the client.
Worked here like a charm. Maybe try a different browser to download too.

Another thing that may work: go to system preferences -> Security & Piracy -> General tab -> (click lock bottom right to make changes) -> allow apps downloads from 'anywhere'.

I have been seeing this under mavericks and now yosemite. Yosemite made it worse it seems.

No questionable processes running, unless eve doesn't like say bbedit running in background. And well never had issues in the past with eve and text editor...nor should there be.

On the fence about bootcamping this. I have a windows disk...jsut not digging carving up the hard drive to do it. Nor rebooting to enter the bootcamp to play a game. Kind of grew to running eve windowed and doing other things and liking it. Things that for years has been fine. I know my other 3rd party apps are good. They are more mac os spec than eve is lol. I tend to favor pure mac os apps coded in objective c (will be swift when they roll out more) so they are "true" mac apps.

Using the terminal to launch two clients at once, whenever I close one client, the other freezes totally. No interaction with client is possible, but Eve can be forced to quit effectively each time.

I had the same issue.

I now use multiple desktops so each instance of an EVE client is in its own desktop and this problem went away for me.

I even run it from one launcher instance, no problems.

So sick of this...
Seems like Yosemite update has made the game less stable. Mavericks had no trouble with it.
A couple of crashes have been accompanied by the message:
"vmmap needs to take control of another process to continue debugging" and the mac is asking for me to unlock the process.
All I want to know is: is this a CCP issue, or Apple? Just want it fixed before I throw a large object at my iMac. Wasting money, if this game remains unplayable...

There is no "High" Shader setting under OS X 10.10 Yosemite running the new AMD 290X and 295X graphics cards.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Sal Goodman,
I'm not sure if this will work for you, but i had the same problem. Found out that you have to go into system preferences, click on security and privacy, and click on the option that allows you to "allow apps from anywhere".
Redownload the eve client with that option selected, run the program and log in. After the client is up an running, (You're in game), you can go back in and change the option to your previous selection.
Just make sure to delete the eve client you have, (Trash), and redownload a new "fresh" version of it.
After you get the client running, it should get passed the verification stage, and run without problems.
You may also want to clear the cache as well.
Hope that helps.
