I need Help with skills

I use to play a few years ago and now that I have come back I've noticed there have been some massive changes, skills that use to be high on the training priority no longer exist so I'm not really sure what I should be training now...

Does anyone have a few skills they would recommend getting trained as fast as possible to improve ship fitting, or general skills every pilot should have?

Few skills have been removed (and none of the high priority ones). LOTS have changed names. You may want to have a look here for what is still I believe a complete list:

Otherwise, core skills are always good. You may want to look here for some ideas and in general everything else linked from here.

On top of your character sheet ingame, you will see "unallocated skillpoints". Those are points that have re-imbursed from learning, social, deleted skills, lost game time, etc. You can apply those however you like to more current skills. Don't rush your decision, think out what you want and apply the points as such.

Play a while. See how you might want to procede and then make a plan. EveMon is still the best app for planning your future timeline.

Hold on to those skill points they are pure gold!!! Seriously you will be kicking yourself the enxt time you are 10 minutes to an hour from flying that ship you got handed for pvp.

Pick the ship you want to fly (start with something small like a frigate) and then start working on the support skills, tank skills and then get tech II weapons trained up.

Dont try to spread yourself too thin to begin with.
