I know you can download the database dumps but how can I include that data in a google docs spreadsheet, is there an API for static data?

I'd suggest just loading the data into one of the sheets of your document. file-> import what you want is the invTypes table. Which you'll find in xls format, in the SDE on my site. Woo! CSM XI!
