Why can't I use several scars at once. For instance if I want a blind eye, I can't add other scars to it.

I'd love to be able to pull off both of these looks. I'll live without it, but it would still be cool.

Grrr.

More than imposing new clothing options or new options for character creator, first I would like CCP devs to say something informative about the clothing team, unreleased clothes amount and who worked on character creator (also what former character creator team is doing now), can they come back for these options, and most importantly, who would decide about it and why would they decide so.

So our capsuleers have become so accustomed to being connected to huge killing machines, they have developed a god-complex, complete lack of empathy and don't even feel like they belong to the human species anymore.
Such people would be embarrassed about the imperfection and frailty of their biological bodies and would chose clothes (like Amarrian robes) to hide them, instead of drawing even more attention to them.

Imperfections? Some capsuleers use them to distinguish their bodies from the crowd.
Frailty of the capsuleer body? We always can get new one.

I didn't see in the idea doc options for button-down suits or tuxedos. Perhaps a more modern twist on futuristic black-tie wear.

[EXPANDED PHOTOS]
This is a larger improvement so I made a new post for it, allowing the usual character "head portrait" with additional photos that would be displayed when someone clicks on your info. It would be great to assign a hotkey to "take photo" at any time, like if you're in the captain's quarters, or out flying. It would screengrab without any UI, which you could then crop and make public to your character's info.

At the very least it would be great to get a bit more options when taking character portraits, allowing us to be in specific environments or have our favorite ship in the background. The current backgrounds are way too abstract.

+1 to more formal wear. Also, +1 to more clothing that looks like it came from wildly different, far-flung worlds. Don't be shy! Maybe iridescence would be a fun variable to play with.

And I want to second the person who said that the NeX store preview should allow us to preview multiple things at once. Having to buy one piece to see how it might look with another piece is incredibly annoying. Also, we should be able to access the clothes we normally have access to in addition to the stuff in the store.

I almost always look at how the clothing fits in SISI before I buy it on TQ, whether with AUR or ISK.

All the suggestions are really great, but ideally could use more people who can turn up to the meet up with the devs.

I think it always helps to have a structured discussion, so knowing what's been suggested in the past will help you and others attending to prioritize what to talk about with the CCP devs.

The poll could be a long term sounding board for the playerbase to express to CCP (and their player representatives) what they are interested in for portraits and avatar customization. Edit: I am working on visual metrics for the results..

Do you have any suggestions on how it could be better advertised? I know you're pretty good at this sort of thing..

Edit: Tweeted. Please retweet.

I had a longer thought about this.

I probably could and I have something in mind,
but I don't think it's actually a good idea and thus I have to decline.

First, there more ideas and variations of ideas out there than people
and people will eventually start to want their idea in it too.

The amount of data, in the long run, is unmanageable.

Second, I consider it a waste of precious time with the devs and my
followup post will underline why I believe this to be the case.

Anyhow, regarding the first point I have to say that it keeps customisation in infancy.
What I did ... what you do now ... basically represents the infancy of character customisation.

(Offtopic: I swear, I will take this new notebook and rip out the ******* touchpad with my bare hands ....)

We're like kids wanting our parents to give us stuff, but we're hundreds of thousands of kids
and eventually the whole idea of making whatever someone comes up with leads to chaos.

Democrazy doesn't work. It's crap. Inefficient.

It is unproductive and inefficient at what it's about: Making CCP money.
Yes. I have no illusions about this. The great part about seeing it this way is that,
the more money CCP makes, the more it means that people get what they want,
maybe even in ways they did not even know they want.

Calling it "clothing workshop" and then telling them "what we want" which is
only a selected few anyway is ... a waste of precious devtime!

What I did made no freaking sense. Of course it worked,
but in the end it's a bullshit way for a company to have players list random stuff they want
or have one person notoriously try to shove it down their throat. *cough*

It's inefficient and not really up to the potential.
That's why I call it infancy. If more people start doing this, we create chaos.
So we need to grow out of it.

Right now people want random stuff,
there's no smooth connection with release cycles,
there's no structure behind it.

It's a freaking mess.

In the long run, we're not helping CCP making money efficiently.

CCP has shown that they understand the importance of customisation, (to make money, which is good)
so I would rather want to *step up the game*.

Hey, I by no means oppose *any* efforts ... I am the last person to stop anyone from pushing,
but to speak in a symbolic way: There's no chance in hell I will ever resurrect this seriously horrible angle Solecist was.

I'm just telling it as I see it and envision progress! You do know though that I am a huge jerk,
I definitely do tell people what I think instead of sugar coating them and
telling them that whatever they do is great blablabla.

The yellow thread gathered LOOOOTS of views and posts. Perfectly executed,
including the perfect protagonist (you) and timing.

The thread in "My EVE" gathered a huge amount of views in a seriously short amount of time.

They both showed potential, but don't make proper freaking use of it.

TL;DR:

Even if thousands of people cast votes,
add a gazillion ideas about what they want
and CCP simply works through the list from top to bottom ...

... in the end it's not a good way of helping CCP making money ...
... and it's pretty much a huge waste of devtime anyway.

Why would you want to talk about the past, when we can talk about the future?

I understand that you are interested in things, but what does this help moving forward?
What do we really learn from this that improves the game and our experience?

I am not opposing this completely, but I strongly believe that we should use the time for something productive.
Something that creates and supports progress and helps us build a better connection with the developers.

Something that allows us AND them to take the opportunity to march forward into a future where
customisation is not only a small side-part of the game, but allows people to actually be someone
and express it in a way that was not only not possible before,
but also on a level unseen in any of the lesser wannabe MMOs out there.

I must have had a stroke or something for being actually willing to do voicechat ...

If you look at the results with 40+ respondents you already see some patterns emerging.

I believe the list does the opposite of what you are saying. It bounds the conversation to a limited requested list, and since I've limited respondents to only choose 3 options in any category it also focuses their feedback to items that are most important to them.

I think it's better than trying to generate talking points out of thin air..

And no one is saying the TS needs to include anything from the poll. The people dialing in can choose to talk about whatever they want.

I'm just providing data.

Well, one thing I'm going to ask the Devs is what we can and can't expect during the next volley of 6 releases and how can we work around of what we want most and when we want it.

Sure some of us have the Walk In Stations thing stuck on the back of our minds, but I'd prefer having some neat clothes on the NES than demanding an overhaul of the Incarna stuff. Maybe we can nudge them to create better facial expressions six months from now!

One thing I'd surely love to have is gloves. Fingerless gloves! Yes!

My wish list would be:

1. BEARDS. Proper ones. Big gnarly biker beards. Viking beards. etc.
2. Monochromatic tattoos more of the biker/metalhead persuasion. Think Francis from L4D. Skulls, goats, pentagrams, Baphomet, chaos star... do the Amarr have a religious symbol that I can invert and tattoo on me?
3. Make up a bunch of totally brutal Minmatar metal bands and give me a jacket with all their patches on it. patchy jacket
4. Almost forgot, proper long hair for dudes.

Hi, thank you for giving us the opporunity to express ourselves on this topic.

What I would like to have as clothing in EvE is some boots and shoes for women without high heel. Like flat sole. I am very upset that we don't have that option.

Some other thing I would also enjoy as accesories, wings in the back.
