If Loyalty rewards were increased for destroying enemy ships in FW...

What would happen?

Why not increase it?

Would everyone just warp to the sun and fight and just ignore fighting in the plexes?

Because just like the bounty system (also a joke) it would be too easily abused by people popping their own alts or friends back and forth to profit.

Lp reward + ship insurance can't be more than the cost of the ship or people will shoot their own alts for profits.

My thoughts are that you would need to remove ship insurance on all faction warfare ships, then you could increase lp payout to 80-90% the ship value. That way it still isn't profitable to shoot your own ships because no insurance. But its wildly more profitable to go blow up other people.

They can't increase LP payouts for ship kills much beyond what it already is at Teir 5 without it becoming exploitable. Ship insurance is a minimal part of the problem, it's the fact that LP is rewarded on total ship value, which includes fitted mods and what's in cargo as well. So long as that's the case, you've got the Gewnswerm market manipulation LP exploit all over again.

it was already a sizeable reward when it was first introduced. and then it was quickly abused by goons.

blowing up their freighter alts abusing the reward system. so it was capped out at 50klp no matter what your tier is.

its bullshit because when you nail a hg slave set kill you only get 50klp instead of what you should be getting. like 250klp

Yep, they need to nerf LP payout bonus's associated with Militia Tier level and find a new set of incentives for holding the WZ.

Then they might be able to remove the cap but, I'd recommend they work out a new reward system for FW PvP kills that does not involve LP directly.

If the system could track kill mails by ship type, it would be nice to have a system that you can collect a reward that accumulates with kills. Perhaps turning kills in for tags? 5x tags or each t1 hull, the respective tag size to hull or different number depending on rank of the killed pilot. More for t2 hull kills.

Its a decent idea, but imo you would see even more gatecamps and smartbombs.

CCP did that initially. The system offered LPs for assets destroyed, using market price to estimate damage (kinda like with insurance). The system got immediately abused to establish following chain:

1. Get alts into opposing FWs;
2. Bring goods by group of alts 1, convert them into LP for group 2 by blowing group 1 ships up;
3. Use LPs to get worthless items nobody ever bought (it's easy to manipulate statistics of items if you're the only one interacting with them);
4. Group 1 buys those items from group 2 using like every ISK available to you for every transaction;
5. Wait for CCP statistics to update;
6. Group 1 loads items into ships and group 2 blows them up again;
7. Group 7 enjoys more LP than EVE's variables can handle.

Scheme was executed on the largest alliance scale and then presented to CCP. All characters involved got rolled back and mechanics was axed for good.

Well played, I must say.

One of the finest pieces of Player vs Dev combat undertaken and executed. Point was well made.

A good kill is its own reward.

Back in my day, we didn't get "LP" for killing our enemy! We killed them because we liked it! There was no "LP for plexes" rewards in FW. We plexed to grief our enemy's sense of pride.

These FW kids nowadays are soft, and I am ashamed to be associated with them.
