Vote for the best MMO of 2014

Think this needs repeating

Just wanted to mention this quickly. It was on the other forum on this topic set up by corebloodbrothers of the CSM

If you want to vote for other games, that's fine. It's your vote after all.

If you want to complain about the state of EVE, this voting drive or EVE's nomination suitability in various categories, that's fine too. Everyone's entitled to have an opinion.

I'd ask however that this thread not be used for those 2 points. This is purely for drumming up support. As i've said before, this for me is about making a statement on our community, therefore I care about the outcome. Others may not, but I do.

I don't care about which website is hosting the vote, how popular it or not it is or how much traffic we are driving to their website. I care about making a statement about this community which i'm honored and proud to be part of. I'd like other places outside of EVE see that.

If you want to make your points on who else you want to vote for or what you think of EVE, there are other and better places on this forum to do that. Of course I can't stop you from posting here, I can only ask.

Thank you

It's where these come from, and we need some that say 2014. Please click the thing, we can sort the other issues with CCP in other threads. Yes, but any idiot can make an award icon. It only matters if it comes from a site or company that's actually recognised in gaming to a significant degree. Considering that for Best MMO, Wow has 8500 votes while we know millions of people play it long term, it suggests that these awards are completely irrelevant. The only reason EVE is winning is because more people that play EVE know it exists. Can you honestly not understand that an award from a site where the result can be so easily rigged by just a handful of players is clearly nothing to be proud of, or are you being deliberately obtuse?

Repeatedly voting every 8 hours and hoping that the millions of players playing games like WoW and Minecraft don't notice there's a vote doesn't actually make EVE any better, you realise that, right?

Even if we could only vote once, it still doesn't make EVE any better, not short-term at least (as said before, winning == more potential players). But that doesn't mean winning can't be fun.

Lucas, we're going to win and then you're going to feel bad. Just do the thing. You're right, no, it's not an Oscar. The objective is getting the little thumbnail icon for the awards page, and it doesn't matter if not everyone showed. What matters is the objective.

If it was by subs, there'd be no point in a competition. If anything it means more that we fought above our numbers.

Even if you don't like the UI, how can you say this with the new ship looks :o I wasn't really prepared for Rhea, so everything came a bit as a surprise (even though I've read a few things). But seeing my Anathema all fancy and actually made out of metal all of a sudden when I logged in, I was just stunned. It was a boost that I didn't really need, but yet here it was. In my opinion just this change made CCP entitled to winning the awards even more.

Why would I feel bad? At most I pity the people here jumping up and down to get people to repeatedly vote. It's a pretty sad state of affairs and EVE is so dire it requires this level of input to win a "nobody" award with barely any competition. EVE was great once, would have smashed out awards without any of this.
