More space on screen

In EvE everybody has a lot of different tabs and windows open at the same time.
Space on your screen is limited, but for some reason while docked in station the station icon takes about 1/8 of your screen.
And I now you can make it smaller, but I like my shiphanger and itemhanger merged with stationpanel.
And now with CCP saying they are redoing the UI, why not make some more room?

for an example I have put the current station icon to the proposed one, so I suggest changing it like this:

The problem with your suggestion is that if forces a much wider minimum width on the interface. I would rather be given the option to customize the bar; resize the corporation logo, add/remove buttons, and relocate buttons to the neocomm. Because I am with you in general sentiment: there's a lot of wasted space there.

Any solution is fine by me as long as that wasted space is dealed with :)

I really like to have my hangers to be integrated to the stationpanel, but the negative side is that you loose windowspace.

+1

Conserving screen estate was my biggest wish for the UI update, unfortunately it didn't happen.

Trim all the fat! Compress! Minify!

There is the UI scaling option, but it breaks the typeface in several places and is unusable.

Not sure if you've done this already, but a huge help is to go into your graphics setting and set your scaling to 90%. I wish they'd let you scale it down even further but this does help quite a bit.

Getting a monitor with a higher resolution (or multiple monitors) helps a lot in that regard.I know it's not really a solution as far as the game itself is concerned, but I can tell by experience that simply going from 1920x1080 to 2560x1440 makes a HUGE difference in terms of work space..I can have the station panel, the market window, inventory window and chat box all open at the same time (with all columns enlarged) and nothing feels squeezed.

I'm delicious.
