statistically about 1 in 10 people say anything... about anything... why the rule is if 1 person complains... figure 9 others are out there just hating whatever it is and not going to say anything about it but you lost them also.

Sorry, I'm way too lazy to post pics.

But just try this as an example (even with your reccomended no-blur, zero-transparency, carbon whatever suggestion):

1. Take any stack in your inventory
2. Shift-drag to divide it into smaller stacks
3. Repeat a couple of times

Notice how the whole screen goes dark each time the 'N. of items?' selection window pops up? Yes?

If that's not fairly annoying to you then I envy you.


This is just a single example of the dynamic brightness effect that unfortunately is applied constantly, to every single window, every time you touch your mouse.

Many people - including me - find it annoying, useless, and would just love to be able to turn it off!

Surely not too much to ask for?

I actually like the new UI. I only have one problem with it. When I click on anything on the ov, the little popup window with choices to align, warp to, etc, appears right over the overview. The words on both the overview and the popup window are blurred together. Using the slider to make the tables more opaque helps, but still isn't optimal.

Disclaimer: I like the changes, and gave feedback in the early sisi tests. They listened! (Gonna play the devil's advocate here)

Some of these claims about display changes being 'bad' is legit: imagine yourself suddenly having migraine attacks, or being nauseous after the patch, HTFU really doesn't apply here. This and the stargate travel animation had some players reports of having or/and headaches/disorientation. The players themselves having this problems have to guess at what specifically causes these, and will point at something general (the animation, the UI).

As someone who has started to wear glasses (grrr books!) I got to appreciate my younger days, when I can spend hours and hours in front of a display. Now, if I had a migraine, I drop what i'm doing and everything just sorta stops.

Hi Alex, nice to see you on forum too.

I copy you. I tried this out, and it does change the "brightness" of the windows. The effect is slightly diminished by lowering transparency, but I still see it. This explains why a large number of people complaining in Help right after Rhea was deployed were market traders, since these folks are staring at multiple windows dragging stuff back and forth for hours.

Thanks for articulating that. I hope you did the same thing in the Rhea UI feedback thread.
