Gun mining with 1 account yields more minerals than dual box mining...

So I am a nullsec industrialist and I just realized that ratting with 1 account and reprocessing the loot (except high value (!) drops) yields more minerals per hour than mining with 2x Skiff.

Happens for every mineral except tritanium. Mining veldspar is a faster tritanium source than ratting. But all the other minerals, just dont bother to do mining unless you are in the mood of relax and stare the lazorz quietly.

Consequently, I just rat all day long and enjoy my minerals while in addition I fatten my wallet with the bounties, that are not earned when mining.

This is an absurd situation and I request CCP to look into it. Nerf reprocessing loot, increase mining yield when u are in nullsec, or something.

Today nullsec mining is broken and if you care about it just do something to incentivate it.

asteroids are too abundant, in my opinion, especially in high sec. The only way to make mining scale with the other professions is to remove a good portion of those high sec belts, and/or make buff ores only found in low/null more so than they already are.

exploration is very limited in highsec so much so that people are willing to go to low and null for it. So why is mining different than that?

Unless you're working with a team of miners (including a booster), mining is the absolute worst thing to do for income per hour in the game.

It's still pretty awful even if you are working with a team.

People mining in high sec without appropriate teams do so because they can afk mine while doing other things for hours on end.

The worst part about this is that the mining skills do not at all translate into anything useful in the combat sense. At least with skills required to do missions/rat, you are able to also PVP.

CCP already drastically nerfed reprocessing loot.

The entire point of mining is that its terrible isk, but you can do it with minimal effort. People who say they "enjoy mining" are only giving half the truth.

People like making isk while they do other things. They like having their character mine while they play DotA/cook dinner/browse reddit.

If you are actually at your keyboard and willing to press buttons more often, then you should do something else. Because you are never going to be able to compete with the afkers or bots.

yes thanks to people using compression to move a freighter of minerals in an interon 5 full of 425mm rail guns, reprocessing took a huge hit as far as loot goes with the highest you can get mineral wise now about 50% and a little over with max skills and implants.

I too loved to mine up until a year ago when all of the gankers came out thanks to ccp and after traveling all of empire and finding complete systems onlock down from mining or having someone constantly claim you need to buy a permit full of holes, ive gone from my 100m a day i was pushing solo to over 1b a day when i decided to play.

Who knew that printing isk in fleet instead of contributing to the society by supplying the market with low price wares would be easy and lead to less game play there for making it lazier then mining.

The Code wins again - another satisfied customer and more proof the New Order of Highsec is a force for good in New Eden.

I am glad our agents helped you to find a more lucrative career than solo highsec mining.

A while back one of suggestions people kept bringing up was to replace NPC loot drops in the form of meta1-4 modules with something that could be turned into BPCs of those modules.

That would probably require meta mod "tiericide" pass though to ensure that those mods still offer proper fittings/cost/performance/something tradeoffs, but that's another matter entirely.
