A Highsec Christmas Carol

Hi All,

This time last year, James 315 published on his MinerBumping Blog a short story based on 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens. He translated the location to Highsec and adjusted the characters accordingly. The result was a hilarious romp which however made a serious point about the motivation and behaviour of a certain easily recognisable EVE-type.

"James 315's razor-sharp caricature of a greedy Highsec mining CEO - and his ultimate redemption. James joins forces with Charles Dickens to bring to New Eden a sparkling seasonal work, full of in-jokes and other mischief, for all EVE players, their friends and families." ..from Audiofile description on SoundCloud.

I decided to record this piece because I'd so enjoyed reading the text version. I hope you enjoy listening to it!

I liked this.
Although.. Miner corps have tax? I understand buy back programs, but the ratting profit is negligible in highsec belts.

I assume it's a 'tax' different to the one imposed by the corp interface. Like "Pay 30m ISK per week as an Orca fee".

ah, thanks for explaining that. I've never encountered something like that, and it seems kind of ****** to do, unless you're not running a buy back program or something.

The reason you do not get the reference is that you obviously didn't bother to actually listen to it before crapping all over it.
There is a pretty significant difference between experiencing something and deciding you dislike it based on it's merits or lack thereof and simply declaring something bad because you happen to dislike the source.
