new ui compared to old one may look updated but is a pain to navigate if u dont know what icon is what. You have multiple colour schemes but not an option to have diffrent coloured icons change this or new players and players that click like me other than using the shortcuts just spend way to long hovering over the icon to find out what it does. my only other complaint is the mach what the hell have u done to my ship it looks horrendous patch as soon as you can because its close to embarrassing flying it at the moment.

Thera needs waaaaaaaaaay more offices. Like, way more. Like, possibly unlimited officers. Seriously CCP, you know Thera's going to be popular - let people have offices there.

Pin/Unpin option for Neocom would be nice. Or some other way to make its background darker.

Getting major eye strain from this new UI.

Please add the option to use the old one.

This new UI should have been a beta opt-in only.

Wanted to add my vote to the Chat Blink is way too subtle pool. Needs to be the entire tab flashing not this down-light effect craziness.

Also when you have Stacked windows of chat and you click on any tab the flash for all tabs that were flashing stops, instead of continuing to flash. This is bad mmmk, Any tab that is flashing should wait it's turn until it is clicked on before stopping.

A lot of ships look really good on max settings now, the maller is a good example. However the game looks categorically worse on the lowest settings, this is not acceptable. Take the gnosis as a particularly bad example. http://puu.sh/dnxvU/abb1f3f7c0.jpg

I don't know what went wrong when you came up with the new ship thumbnails when they're in your hangar but they look awful. The new UI I can live with although I preferred the old one. The new map looks fantastic.

I only flew out my Retriever, but I think it looks nicer.

I think there's only one window transparency setting? I'd kinda like a setting for each window in the future. For example, skills window I like fully opaque but the chat windows I like a bit of transparency when in space since it's always open. Maybe if Skills/character had its own setting I could dock cargo and market window on it and re-use the setting for them.

I don't mind the neocom and dock icon changes. I prefer a bit more color in icons normally, but no big preference from me.

This has been argued and asked a lot over the years, but I have a problem with the constantly moving/floating camera. With improved graphics I think it's going to be even worse for me, ironically. The prescription drugs I have to take I think have trashed my tolerance of a video game moving the camera on its own, i.e. I get motion sickness when in dock or mining, but movements that I direct and warp graphics don't bother me. So I'd like to put in one more request for an option to make the camera static/non-floaty. Smile

Wonder how the new UI got approved. Wonder if it was bring your kids to work day and they let the kids decide? It is awful to be honest. These flat, no tone buttons have no personality, not like Eve at all. Should have called this patch diar-RHEA.

Cool! Didn't know this was being implemented v0v

Wasn´t this implemented several AddOns ago?

In the Rubicon expansion, we made ships inside of a Ship Maintenance Array have a chance of being placed in the SMA wreck. For Rhea with the release of the Bowhead, we took the opportunity to extend this mechanic to bays inside of ships as well.

At first I didn't like the UI and the icons had me confused, but after playing a couple of hours with them it's starting to grow. But the Rorqual and some minmatar ships look aweful with the new lightening :(

I am not surprised that it is someone who designs to please the guy who taught them 'design' rather than to please the poor saps stuck with whatever they produce, that likes the new UI.

If design school teaches you that all icons should be the same color to increase usability, I'm glad I didn't go to design school.

Guess with graphics - including icon design - theres going to be an awful lot of subjective preference as well as personal habit. I'll just add my views 'coz this is the update opinion spot!

1) UI - neocom icons look fine to me. played for 2 hours no headaches or otherwise. Was never a big fan of the old one to be honest and any difficulties I'm having with the new one it will be sorted out with some practice and habit.

2) Have graphics at highest settings here and I genuinely believe the new ships are a definite improvement. Yes, some do look a little plastic. Others dont. Whose to say spaceships dont look most realistic this way. Again, personal preference and habit will play its part. Always been a fan of the probe and she looks prettier now than before. Perhaps the new skins project will sort out the "i dont like my ship anymore" problems some seem to be having. I would imagine if you really are not impressed with your fav ship anymore than that is a major downer. Still, from me thumbs up here CCP.

3) Map - I like it. I know it's beta. I want it not beta as soon as possible. Well done.

4) Manual control- Nice and long overdue. Feels natural. Not sure yet - 'coz im no combat expert- what effects (if any) it may have on combat (and therefore genuine piloting skill)..I have noticed that i can turn much tighter etc now. I like this. Again well done.

5) Thera,101 wormholes etc. Haven't been yet..but I am enjoying the sleeper exploration sites. All of this is good. I'm an avid explorer and to be honest I haven't played in a long time as I found the oddesy update very disappointing. (this was when cans were going to 'spill' loot & exploring was being targetted as a group activity). I'm back a few weeks and I like exploring again. I like the step towards...(still just a step mind you)..making exploration sites a thinking, manouvering and puzzeling experience.

well done overall CCP, I certainly like what Rhea brings. Pat on the back from me.

The pirate faction ships do not render correctly. The dark side of the ships shine and the light side washes out. The Phantasm is a good example of the problem. They all look ugly except the SOE ships.

Blood Raider ships now have "dull brown" blood splatter paint! The old dark red was much better.

The Gallente ships are way too shiny, it looks tacky to me. More like Christmas tree decorations!

IMO, I prefer the old "less realistic" rendering.

Whoever designed that blurry color changing piece of crap needs to be fired.
Also the person that approved it !

Seriously, CCP, NOBODY in that company of yours reported in all the weeks of testing that these new "wonderful" UI features are messing with our eyes/heads? Bloody hell.

Things I don't like and why:

UI

  • New graphical embellishments to the edges/borders of the windows just creates more visual noise on screen and adds no usability/aesthetic improvement to the overall UI.
  • When background blur is enabled, module activation buttons that are behind them do not show through the transparency.
  • 1 pixel buffer between windows that are next to/on top of each other still show space scene text at full opacity, creating more unnecessary noise, especially when moving the camera around.

New Lighting

  • IMO this has been a step backwards for the game's art direction. Every ship is now duller (less saturated colours), very poor contrast and generally look matte/unrealistic. Highest graphics settings (HDR disabled). This is the biggest disappointment for me.
  • What's more is that not only has this made every ship in the game look worse, but its also very inconsistent across the different ship models (Amarr hulls are ridiculously bright/golden after patch whilst Caldari ships are now even more dull in appearance).
  • Iconography has also changed for all ship hulls, taking the new lighting, they have very poor anti-aliasing!
  • Shadows seem to be broken - reappear and then disappear (instantly and repeatedly) as camera is moved around, rather than adapting to the lighting angle.

Everything else is excellent!
