Finally ICONS that deserve the name "icon". And no more muddy colored mess. Lol
The first thing I wanted to do when I started EVE was to mod the interface myself (except it's not possible). And even after a few years I still had trouble to read those old terrible images at a glance.

This makes the Designer in me very happy! Major improvement! Much usability!
Only the cargo hold icon falls a bit out of the scheme. The cargo hold icon the main menu/Neocom, not the one in the HUD. It would also better if both had the same icon.

I just took a short jump into space. Looks like the Selected item panel is clearer and has more contrast, too.
Also, no negative impacts on performance so far (I play on minimum hardware).

Just one question. Is there no search function on the new map?

Great work btw - looks stunning. Even my space potato.

No there isn't , it was on the notes for the new map, it doesn't work in a wormhole either or shows jump distance. Looks good though so far.

Please CCP, Please for the love of the ******* gods in new eden.

The new renderingen makes my whole gallente fleet look like flying silver turds. Thank alot for ruining the green/blue paint on all gallente vessels.

Please make a option so we can use the old rendering.

Ships look less colorful and more 'sterile'. Same goes for the UI, it's a matter of personal preference of course but I for one don't like it.

Channel blink notifications are harder to see, station buttons are too small for my liking even when using the 'big' ones.

Visually, I think it's a step backwards, I'll prolly get used to the UI, but for now, can't say I like it. As far as I can remember this is pretty much the first time I do not like a visual 'upgrade'.

How do you stop the ui from brightening the active window - i check over 4 k or orders each day and having the screen flash every few seconds is a right pain to my eyes - can we have an opt out option as the new interface is very retro.

Agreed, the flickering that results from rapidly clicking through orders is sure to give me a headache. I tried removing/adjusting transparency and using different themes but nothing seemed to help.

The frames on windows are quite dark, which makes it almost impossible to tell where one end and another begins when you have several windows overlapping each other.

I have several windows open on the display - clicking between them like I'm in a smegging disco

I really like the new map. As far as I can see in its current version the statistics do not work the way as in the old map eg. if I filtered on jumps in last hour I could actually see how many jumps there were if I hovered my cursor above solar system.

Do we have some info on the unidentified signatures yet?

Same goes for the Helios, it reminds me of a horrible green X-mas ball I chose to put in the X-mas tree as a kid (back then I guess I liked horrible vomit inducing green) Lol

I do not mind the new Gallente colours, but they could do with bring a bit less shiny.

People *always* prefer what they are used to. Even if it sucks.
Yes, the "hologram" optics are a matter of taste. But the old icons... This is a NO GO, every aspiring designer learns in school in the first week. They looked not simply out-dated, they were just bad. Illegible, terrible for usability. Even if it hurts, it's the right thing to trash the old icons... No more confusion.

Btw the probe scanner window needs new icons, too. But I guess it's all WIP.

please give us back color sliders for the ui, these new color sets are nifty but all of them are grey, drab and 2edgy4me. I liked bright colorful UI like this http://puu.sh/dl5pG/e40df518b8.jpg

Okay, I checked out the beta map thing because I knew right away this was going to be something I would use a lot in a particular way. I play EVE with two monitors on a single client, so I have the client set up at 3840x1080; 1920 per monitor. My right monitor is for all my intel, menus, etc, including overview, and the left monitor can be devoted purely to visual navigation for various things like manual piloting (slingshotting kiters in PVP) and making videos much easier without the need to cover up chat channels (because I can just crop out half the screen.)

So I thought I'd check out the new map, and I docked it to the right monitor. Now normally, my overview is on my right monitor pinned to the far right of the screen with the 'selected items' box docked right on top. However, when I docked the map there, it pushed my overview to the left monitor, regardless of having the overview pinned or not. I took a couple of quick screenies to demonstrate what my issue is here.

Here's my layout without the map open.

Here's my layout with the map open, showing how my overview is moved somewhere I don't want it.

As per the second screenshot as well, despite having all those pinned chat and menu boxes set to transparent (except for dscan), the map doesn't appear behind them. This map would be more useful to me if it were to appear behind those boxes or if it had bring to front/send behind options there somewhere. But the most important thing for me is that it doesn't alter my UI layout. As it is, it's more of a hindrance than a help.
