What Happened with the new "Visual effects updates to asteroid belts".

I just noticed that this new addition is not found in the new Rhea Patch Notes released, so what's the story of this..?

They realized mining was turning into a polished turd in a literal sense.

Recruitment Officer: What type of a pilot are you? Me: I've been described as a Ray Charles with Parkinsons and a drinking problem.

CCP probably figured since most miners are watching Netflix or taking a map, none of them are really looking at the client anyways, and pushed it back in order to work on features that people who actually are actually at the keyboard will appreciate.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I'm just hoping that we'll get those cool effects from that NVIDIA video at one of the FanFests. The one with the Revenant in the asteroid field and all the nice tessellation and rocks floating around actually colliding with the ships hull, and not its circular hitbox.

Saw an ice roid with a big hole in it.

Could not fly through the hole.

Left me feeling a little.... blocked.

As someone who mines a lot in this game, I can confirm this is pretty accurate and understandable.

I think they should add this effect to the planet rings, in approximate 1 000 km from the belt. Some effects like this could replace the gas clouds we see in every mission. Restricting this effect only to belts would seem too restrictive.

As someone who mines; this is just another graphical effect that I will be turning off anyway, to reduce system load running all my accounts.
