Well then it's just monument of what once were the greatest trade hub of EVE. Add some degeneration to it and if there is new clear market hub king, use the model also there without the degeneration?

I don't think Jita can really lose it status unless CCP does big changes in empire gate connections.

I do like the idea of specific well known/used/lore stations having a special look to them that is either entirely unique or at least rare. Station skins was a good start to this. Add this to the idea of ambient station activity based on players using the station and it could be pretty cool. Especially if trade hubs move, seeing a massive station that was once very active, mostly dark and quiet would be cool.

Change the station, to something more grand, same should go for the other trade hubs, but if you're that influential, that people try to burn you once a year you should have recognition and bigger guns on your station to keep those rascals at bay

though they should have the undock gate at the exact same place as where it is now.

Concept is cool as ice, but likely impossible. A station surrounding a moon would be many grids in size.

What I would suggest are modular stations. Each station type has a base design and as activity increases in a given station new modules are added on to it to represent this. It would be automatic based on assets stored in station, number of docks/undocks per day, jobs installed, and other relevant factors.

Jita would be several times the size of a normal station but still easily fits onto a grid.

Actually, if you look at the art panels from the last Evefest or two, there are plans for stations to respond to player activity.

Now, it's pretty much in terms of holographic advertising appearing on the undock in differing densities, but that is the NPC world reacting to player activities.

Changing station models dynamically is probably out of the question though, as suddenly everyone's undock, insta-dock, safe cyno, and perch bookmarks could be obsoleted the moment a certain threshold of activity is reached. So, while I think the OP's idea is neat, no support.

so what? the simple inconvenience of having to proactively update their "im completely safe from ganks" every couple months is too much to ask that an entire feature can be shot down for it?
