Can't play EVE without my computer crashing all the time

This issue probably isn't related to the EVE client, but I can't play EVE for more than 15 minutes (more or less) without Windows BSODing or crashing. I'd upload a memory dump, but it's mainly just been crashing lately. It's most likely a video card or video driver issue as I can play Enemy Territory and Minecraft fine on my Linux install. My video card is a GeForce 9600 GT. I've tried the 280, 285, and 290 driver versions, but it happens on all of them. It's definitely not a heat issue.

I tried running EVE without a driver loaded, but got this message repeating infinitely in the LogServer: "Trinity is using the regular device". Clearing EVE's settings made it do the same thing. Is there any way to fix this?

I was able to play EVE earlier this year. I haven't tried playing other games on Windows since the crashing started, so it's possible that it affects other games. Do I need a new video card?

Which Linux distro are you using?

It's a known issue with Linux and EVE. Linux is very finicky about drivers, and EVE crashes quite regularly without the proper ones installed, even through Wine and/or Crossover; you'll need to look up your specific card and see if there are Linux drivers available, and probably go through the Root Terminal to properly configure your system to handle them.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

You misread my post. I didn't say I was running it through Linux. Although if I get it working with Wine, that would be a solution to my problem.

Edit: Got it working in Wine. At least I can play now.

Sorry, I did kind of misread. You mentioned Linux working with other games, so I got a bit muddled.

Good to hear it's all working now.
