Before/after downtime comparison seen from Vale of the Silent:

Either the size of the star has stabilized, or it isn't tied to downtime?

its not tied to downtime someone said it changes every 19 hours

and nice images of the ring around the star, i think it might be the Praxis effect like the guy above mentioned

So, what's the deal? Is this some in-game event thingy?

Have you been living under a rock?

A recovering btter vet,  with a fresh toon and a determination to like everything that CCP does to Eve...

Don't take me too seriously though, I like to tease a bit on the forums, but that's only because I love you...

Dang that arc of light from day 8 to 9 is moving really fast. Something is going boom over there, or has already gone boom,

Unrealistic. No light suddenly visible in one system would be visible across the galaxy at the same time. Light moves at a finite speed in vacuum, which is even lower in the space fluid.

Unless you have a artificial wormhole induced supernova that projects the light on every point it would travel at once.

Or it's a video game and the thing can be seen everywhere because it can be seen everywhere.

The in-universe news actually lampshades the fact that Caroline's Star being visible everywhere simultaneously is impossible. http://community.eveonline.com/news/news-channels/world-news/stellar-anomaly-detected-by-capsuleers/

Some sort of wormhole phenomenon seems the most likely explanation to me.

Eve continues to mock your realistic model of physics. It will continue such mockage until you remember that this is a game, and unrealistic effects are its stock in trade.

Will I get banned for boxing!?!?!

Uhm... how much energy does a superluminal stellar shockwave have...?

Note to self: Clone jump to the faaaaaaaaaar side of the galaxy.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

Alternate theory. Given how the EVE gate exploded, is there any chance the Caroline star is another EVE type mega-wormhole spawned/farmed/enhanced by the Jovians to escape to a different part of the universe? (And it finally just collapsed, after "all" the Jove have left.)

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

it seems to me that the bigger the disk gets the smaller the star is getting take a notice at image 10 and 11 in my updated gif in the first post of this thread
