In game, not much ... maybe receiving ships and implants form an older player when I was starting to play years ago. I continued to do the same for other new players later.

Out of the game... well... this is not "that" kind of forum. Shocked

I flew my brand new Raven into 0.0 in Providence, because I heard they were nice around there and didn't just shoot you instantly. Being a newbie with basically no support skills to fit it, this thing was fit horribly. 2 rapid light missile launchers, 3 torpedo launchers, and 3 200mm railguns. I at least didn't dual tank it, but I had a small shield repper and no resist modules fitted, just extenders. The lows had two overdrive injector systems... tech 2 ones because I had just trained enough to fit them. There were unused slots all over the place.

My second or third gate into 0.0, I got caught in a gatecamp by the Agony Unleashed guys, and my pride and joy, the brand new Raven was lost. I was promptly podded so I logged out and cried myself to sleep that night (not really but I was pretty bummed about it).

I logged in the next day to find I had 200 million isk (where I previously had around 10m) and had an Evemail waiting. One of the guys who killed me had given me the isk and wrote me a really nice mail saying that he knew what it was like to lose a brand new battleship and directed me to some guides on ship fitting. At that point I knew for sure I was going to love playing Eve because of the community, and aside from a little break last year, I've kept up playing Eve since that day.

Gave me a set of Arbalest missile launchers to put on my new Caracal.

I took the 1 bil+ ISK that someone who was quitting gave UaE, and made several new players very happy with frigs, dessies and skillbooks and implants.

Interesting...

I had a similar experience. A guy who I barely knew, decided he was quitting. He gave me 1.5 Billion in ISK, because he laughed at my goofy jokes in CP Chat...

I took about 600 Million of it and passed out some Drakes, Noctis and even some Ravens and Scorpions. That was the day a Raven could be had for 80 Million...

Itsmehck (probably spelled wrong), from Shadow Cartel gave me a billion ISK one month, funded quite a bit of PVP. There are a few other small things I can't remember.

Other than that most people that play this game are ass holes.

I randomly donate isk to brand new players that catch my eye in local. Sometimes it's a million here or there to help them on their way.

Most don't notice it.

Don't take me too seriously though, I like to tease a bit on the forums, but that's only because I love you...

My first weeks I got tons of good advice and one dude gave me 10 mil, which is maybe not alot for some people but for me at the time it was awesome since i just lost my first crusier to a combat site. If you keep a healthy skepticism i find EVE players are an amazing community.

I had a Neo-Spartan blow up my ****fit mining Thrasher in Otou, pin my pod, and refused to let me go until she'd answered every noob question I could think of. Then she gave me 10mil and let me fly back to Hek to do it right.

I'll never forget it!

When I was quite new to Eve some advice on what mining ship to get to make more isk than from the ship I was currently using, apart from that nothing.

Where all this supposed good nature of other Eve players comes from is a mystery to me as apart from that advice all I have ever got in the game was being ignored and unwarranted hostility resulting in me losing a ship and pod.
