Why are there no sub cap ships who specialice in using drones alone ?

i would like to fly a ship wich only uses drones for offence ( not much into either lauchers or turrents ) and still has comparable damage output to other conventional ships high slots could be used for rr or drone mods ( possible even the drone control unit )

it would most likly have to be a BS tho.

is there any one else who would like to see a ship like that aswell ?

Dominix? Ishtar? Myrmidon? Ishkur?

The Ishkur and Myrm are debatable, yes, but most people ignore the gun bonuses on the Ishtar/Domi and only use drones. The Dominix is known for its prowess in RR BS blobs, and huge flexibility when you treat every highslot as a utility highslot. Ishtar will either fit small guns or do the same thing.

In other words, the ships are there, you're just not thinking about them right.

Don't forget Curses - just neut and point people while your drones slowly core their way through to their pod - drones do almost 200 DPS, it will turn off all your modules and it's difficult to kill.

all those ships are intresting ships .

but they all have one thing in common . when it comes to doing damage they are still inferior to a ship with drones and guns ,

the only redeeming atributes belong to the amarr drones boats due to them having their main dps comming from drones.
using highs for neuts and vampires.


( wich is more in line with what i would like )


any how thanks so far for exelent suggestions .. it seems that i will take a deep sip from the amar cup soon.

So, the Myrmidon, which has NO BONUS TO GUNS doesn't get the DPS from drones?

I agree with the OP. I think there should be a battlecruiser with 125 bandwidth and no turret or launcher hardpoints, with a drone and armor repair bonuses.

Ishtar can field 5 Ogre IIs or 5 sentry drones and do a very good amount of DPS. Same is true for the Dominix.

The Ishkur and Myrm are pretty terrible without guns. But this Ishkur is actually as good with guns as most comparable ships AND gets a Drone bonus, which makes it awesome. The Myrm has no real issues being fitted with autocannons and getting some decent range.

Vexor is a T1 cruiser, so it's nothing special. It is fantastic against smaller ships though.

Arbitrator is a little better owing to the very nice TD bonus, but in all other ways is fairly similar to the Vexor.

Pilgrim/Curse are awesome because they can almost completely shut down a turret-based ship and kill them whilst they're helpless. Very painful ships to be against.

Worm is kinda meh in the DPS department, but it can fit one hell of a shield tank. Needs faction modules to be truly viable though.

Gila is essentially a shield-using Ishtar, with marginally less tank. A very good boat with good DPS.
